Melbourne - 4
You've actually chosen 5 for Melbourne.

That said, I wouldn't have Angus.

I haven't seen anywhere near enough football to back players in - but i do wonder when the last time a key defender polled AFLCA votes in 5 consecutive games. (This assumes Barrass polls against Freo)

Lad singlehandedly holding back a flood at the moment.

Game against freo would have been 60+ had he not been there.

He'd also be between 39-41 coaches votes at the moment - so just off the main leaderboard.

nice job

Any reason why you have not added goal kicked to the list?

Didn't even cross my mind to be honest, don't think it'll come into consideration for selectors. If a defender was managing to get up the field and kick a goal a game it might be different – but as it is, Dawson has kicked 10, Rioli 9, Dale 7, none of which would really move the needle compared to everything else they do.

not sure I agree

so many games are decided by less than 1 goal

I just wanna get this in early. How many goals will lynch need to kick against the bombers to be in the team? Overtaking Cameron takes 5, overtaking Curnow will take 8 + any goals he kicks this round.

If he finishes higher than Hawkins he might get in, otherwise it's Cameron, Curnow and Hawkins as the talls.

I don't think it is based on how many goals he kicks whether he is getting into the AA. Whether it should or not is a different story, but I don't think that is the only thing the AA selection looks at. Its why the coleman medallist isn't always a guarantee.

So kicking more goals won’t outweigh any other stats? He can’t get in then no matter what happens?

Cripps has not played well since about round 11?

I credit you for actually putting out a team, unlike some other Richmond posters in this thread, but Broad and Weitering are awful, awful picks.
Maybe weitering. But have you even watched broad play ? I doubt you have watched all his games. He has been a consistent performer for us. Will be up there in our b and f

He won't make it this year but Lewis Young my shout as Full back for next season. Currently averaging the most Spoils/One percenters in history at 10.3 and 11.6 after having a record breaking 24 spoils on the weekend. Still needs to add a bit to his game to reach an AA level in terms of one on one when the ball isn't up high and with rebounding the ball more a bit but he's been an awesome pick up for the Blues while Weitering has taken a back seat since going down injured.

The crazy thing is Jordan Clark didn’t even make your list?
K 12.5 R50 3.5 KE 9.9 IP 5.3 rated elite for a defender in most attacking metrics it’s amazing that players aren’t even thought of by some fans unless raised by the media first.

Yep, that's pretty much how it works, it's tough to stand out among defenders this year. Ed Richards isn't going to go near the All Australian squad despite being well in contention for the Bulldogs B&F and 6th in player ratings among all medium defenders.

In any case, if I add Clark to the list above he rates last or second last in 4 out of the 10 categories and his average rank would put him 12th out of the 14 players (marginally ahead of Daicos and Brayshaw).

Yeah I wouldn’t have him in the team but it’s funny how one player can be a lock in a lot of peoples teams and another player with similar effectiveness doesn’t get one mention for a squad birth.

If he kicked 30 against the bombers I reckon I'd find it hard to leave him out.

How many locks to ppl have?

Cameron
Gawn
Neale
Petracca
May
Bolton
Brayshaw

Is Sicily considered a lock too?
Oliver is much more of a lock than Gawn, Petracca and May
