Both Devante Parker and JC Jackson are 3rd Rnd Franchise Tagged players.

You dont have 3rd rounders.

Both bids i will delete, and again everyone check the list of tagged players before submitting a bid.
Crap... didn't realize I didn't have a 3rd lol

Jeepers... don't remember trading my picks away lol
only got 1.13, 4.13 and 5.13 this year

If you're interested in getting a third back, 3.16 is available. In desperate need of half decent players apart from QB.

I forgot to mention...

When you trade for a player, you can keep their salary/contract as is, or, you can seek to re-sign them to a new contract.

A new contract means a new salary, devised by multiplying $20,000 by the fantasy points they scored the previous season.

You have about a week to or so to let me know, as I manually do all salary/contract adjustments.

You can choose to keep him on $500,000 with 1 yr remaining.
Or
Re-sign him on $3,675,800 for 3-5 years.

If you keep Tua on current contract, next off-season he would become an off-contract rookie, having reached 0 years, that you could then re-sign for 1-2 years on whatever new salary he might have depending on how many fantasy pts he scores this season. 2022 being the previous year when he's off contract in 2023.

If he has a good year in 2022, that salary could end up 6-8m instead of 3.6m.

Your current salary cap space a consideration if you intend to make a lot of roster acquisitions still.

I personally would play it by ear, keep him for 500x1, re-sign him for 1-2 yrs next off-season even if his salary bloats to say 6m.

If you're super confident about his rising star, you could lock him in at 3.6m salary for 3-5 yrs given he had a down year scoring only 189 pts in 2021.

You also can decide on Hardman, but he already was an off-contract rookie this off-season that received a new salary off of 2021 pts, and that I re-signed for 2 yrs. So theres no real benefit. His existing salary would remain but you could extend him to 3-5 yrs instead of 2.

=====

Likewise, because i traded for Prescott ... I too have to decide whether to keep him on 4.7m for 1 yr, and re-sign or tag him next off-season when he hits 0 yrs....or re-sign him now for 3-5 years on 6.7m

=====

Something to also consider is dead money for the existing year. If you re-sign a player for say 5 years, but he turns out a bust, or retires or loses his starting job, and you decide to release them, you would incur big dead money for the year.

Eg, a player is on 5m salary for 5 years. Releasing a player means a dead money cap hit of 20% of their salary times contract years. 20% of 5m is 1m, multiplied by 5 is 5m. So no cap space gained if you were feeling the squeeze and wanted to make some space to sign another player.

Thats why most owners choose 3 year contracts, and only use 4 or 5 when theyre super confident about a player and his future.

Thanks - I’ll hold both Tua and Hardman at existing salaries

Good trade Blacky, far better than spending 10m in free agency and giving up a second on Godwin. :tearsofjoy:
oh you will be paying more than that
