Did anyone watch Brisbane and Sydney? Was Zorko back to playing his 2021 role?

I watched the game and it looked like it. Full send Zorko this week. Need some POD moves to work to keep climbing up the rankings.

He could've kicked 5 goals so it would be silly to move him back. I think as long as Coleman holds there is no need for him in the backline. Risky relying on that but oh well.

Plus West Coast this week. Could go Parker and most will go Parker. But I'm playing for upside and not safety right now.

Got this sneaking suspicion that Daicos will get rested this week - no info, just a hunch given his decline in output over the last couple of weeks and the coach's comments re: his foot soreness.

With that said, have basically made two simple decisions re: trades this week -

a) In a unique quirk, my decisions this week rest on whether or not a rookie plays rather than doesn't play

Essentially, if McInnes plays, he's beyond useless to me, as I can't use him as a loop option and his ceiling is a 50 and his floor is about a 10 (his BE is 32 right now). This means, that if he plays, he'll lose money, and I can't even use him as a loop for McComb and Dunks VC. If this happens, I'll bring Crisp in with the extra cash, as Stewart with 40 disposals will be a giant flashing 'tag me' sign for the Horse's ASS himself, Leon Cameron.

b) If McInnes doesn't play, then he can be a loop option, but he could still be sub. That's usually tough to figure out, but it'd be worth taking the risk and keeping him on the off chance I can loop him/Dunks monsters it. In this case, Skinner goes and I roll the dice with Stewart v Crazy Leon and possibly Ash forward playing a checking role (current choice).

Also means looking forward, that Skinner can be used as a loop next week - and McInnes can't because he's playing Friday night vs the Dogs and my usual VC in Dunks - so he's even more useless to keep if he does play.

Odd scenario, but it's why I've kept Skinner this long given his DEF/FWD ability and his hardiness in being looped in multiple positions/as a captaincy option.

Might all be moot if other players are rested/dropped - but I'm still leaning McInnes out over Skinner if he's named, as it gets me the likely D1 or D2 in Crisp, with a very nice match up this week. Will be interesting to see what happens when teams are named, but I'm sure as always, there'll be a few lovely surprises!

As you were :)

Traders had some 'sources' the other night that said apparently Daicos has been dealing with a few things the last couple of weeks but he has campaigned heavily NOT to be rested from games. Read of that what you will, but I think he carries a lot of weight in that team already. Agree he likely needs a rest. I can trade him this week or J, it doesn't really both me. But i'd honestly prefer to keep him one more week.

Perfect scenario would be he plays, hits his BE then I trade him when everyone else sees an 80 and goes how good is this, they hold then NEXT week he takes a rest and everyone else is scrambling to replace. I can dream.

Awesome insight, and definitely agree with the last part that it would be a dream scenario to trade him before he got dropped, haha

Is Daicos tradeable if he is rested this week?

He's obivously not a keeper anymore... but at the same time, he will not be the most pressing issue on people's teams... but having peaked in cash gen... i am mulling over the question "should i trade daicos this week if he is rested?"

Just an FYI (and I say this knowing he'll likely go 160 this week against the hapless Eagles) - this is his heatmap and CBA numbers this week versus last week (Rayner had 11 of those the prior round which is basically what Zorko had this week with 13, due to Rayner not taking those this week):

At this point I am trading him whether he gets rested or not... it's the only way I could scrape together enough cash to get a keeper into my team.

Good to hear. Had him for second half of last year and he was amazing. Been erratic this season but still capable of good scores.

I've currently grabbed Neale who I think I'll need and should have had plus I can then afford Zorko with $0 left over who will give me a nice POD if he takes off.

Whilst I am rethinking him as a keeper, are we getting a Nic Newman 2.0 situation
Dropped/Rested then actually is in and goes bang. He has a ceiling so is a risk to dump him too prematurely. Unless you are getting a proper premium.

Neale and Zork in the same week?
Oooft, what a baller 🤑

So as I mentioned a few posts back, I’ve decided on Crippa as my premo mid upgrade for now.

However if a $190k forward is named this week, like Hollands (who is a decent chance IMO) I could potentially swap to Laird, as going from Hayes to Hollands instead of Rioli Jr and then Rachele to Laird would leave me with the same amount of money as my initial trade to Crippa.

Plus my bye situation is looking decent, so R13 I could have as little as four on field players out.

Only because Greg Clark prevented me getting a premo mid last week and i got Rozee as didn’t like any of the top forwards once JDG was injured 🤣

So was cashed up
Hmmm the Zorko temptation is real.
Can either go Daics > Oliver or Noddy > Zorko.
Mills choice went out the window when 6 of my mids would have missed rd 13

So many decisions… Brodie and daicos not playing well has thrown everything off… now gotta decide when to ship them off, as opposed to my worse but cheaper rookies. Life was simpler when Brodie and daicos were looking like keepers

I’m culling the big rooks Daics and JHF. McCartin I was hoping would miss but not to be.

Would love to go Oliver over Neale due to the ownership but then I can't go a second upgrade.

If Daics gets rested this week might go back to 1 up 1 down which will allow me to get a Melb mid next week for the Eagles match up lol

That was my initial plan of action also but having Daics at D6 instead of Noddy looks so much better, even if Noddy has the roos this week.
Daics out or rested will make the decision for me though.
Can't go wrong with either Oliver or Neale imo, with both to maul the Eagles I'd say.

Rozee and Gresham in.
Unless you are backing Rozee and Gresham to be top 6 fwds, you're gonna waste another 2 trades getting them out. The thing is with how weak fwds are this year, an average of 90 might be enough for top 6 fwd status.

I don't agree with the theory that you are wasting a trade if you intend to upgrade Rozee at a later date. If he can average 80-85 till his bye round 12, he'll be at a price that's not substantially lower than most forwards excluding Dunkley, and you're not conceding many points.

With 3 trades over the bye rounds, he's an easy upgrade.
