Enjoyable game so far, both teams looking at 2-3 short kicks or hand passes to open up space for a long kick to advantage.

Gresham working high and then strong going back.

King and sharman leading beautifully.

Clark starting wide and working into the middle, defensive wing role, similar to deal.

Heath is an impressive big man, love his attack on the ball. Winhager and bytal playing beautifully

Looks as tho the Black forwards and White defenders are our best teams which makes sense as you’d want the best defenders playing on best forwards.

White defenders in Pato, Webster, Hill and Sinclair all been very good.

Oscar Adams looks like a genuine modern day KPD. I’m calling it now he’ll be the next KPD we’ve been wanting for years. Although he’ll still be a few years away.

A couple of solid marks already!

Bytel and Owens looking really good. Jones particularly good early, Gresh popping into the mid and being effective. Having these two in the guts will make our midfield so much more dynamic. Kent, Butler busy. Sincs good, Darragh pretty good also. Pick of the key defenders for black. Byrnes a good first half of the quarter. Looks more like a man now.

Good moments included Adams pack mark early in the quarter, NWM hitting a beautiful kick to the top of the 50, Sharman's field kicking is actually exceptional, Hayes had a couple of good moment.

Need to see more of Crouch, Clark, Ross. Long needs to keep his feet. Had 2 frustrating moments then 1 brilliant. Classic Long. Hill a little quiet. King needed to slot his shot but looked good the few times the ball went into Black's F50.

Lienert was directing traffic, looks comfortable out there. Naish a couple of good moments.

Bytel is not only a much better kick than Dunstan but his hands are also clearly superior.

Hopefully we don't see Long and Kent too much this season, they're hopeless with the ball in hand

1st quarter thoughts: good stardard of footy actually. Hit targets, good ball movement. Still a little too much bombing it in.
Notables from the first quarter:
Paton - class, composure, skills. He'll be back in as soon as match fitness is there.
Sharman - needs to play, absolute natural on the field
Gresh - really missed him, as said earlier, in our best 5 players when fit
Naish (40 if thats hit) - got quite a bit of the ball but butchered it. Would want to see a lot more.
Bytel - good crumbing for the goal, very quick hands, good quarter. I'd want to see him attacking the centre bounce more rather than just trying to stop his man
Owens - he's huge. lots of upside here but I think he needs matches in the 2s
Long - not in the 25 for mine. Skills let him down
Hill - hopefully thats the standard for the year
