Can any one tell us much about Arnold who played in defence for us today ??
Lohman as others mentioned just has that X factor, looked really impressive.
Tom Berry BOG for me, seriously love the way he goes about it. Would love to see him get a run in the seniors playing the role he plays in the ressies, more as ball hunting mid.
I think Lane and Smith did a great job against Comben Colemen-Jones.
Triffet looks a really likely type, seems really composed.

Arnold came down from Nth Qld as part of the Suns academy. A few seasons at Broadbeach (premiership player) and great to see H doing well with the Lions.

Is very athletic for his size and has AFL attributes for sure

Not bad at all! If he'd played both halves he might have gotten two votes!

I'd love to see Tommy get another shot at it.

We'll be missing out on a good player if we have to let him go.
Berry needs to move, not even an emergency this week. Not rated by Fagen. Would be a walk up start at 10 other sides.

I can't agree sorry. In the games he has played in the AFL all he has been able to really do at standard is apply pressure. Admittedly he hasn't had an AFL game in a while, so given a chance again he may do better. Further the game on the weekend in the VFL and, from memory, a game late last year are the only times I have seen him dominate at VFL/ NEAFL either.

A function of that is the fact that he has not been able to play the position he is most suited. He is a midfielder and if he were to make it it is going to be as a midfielder. When he has come in it has been as a forward and he has not shown much aptitude for kicking goals.

Not saying that he should be picked ahead of others but if you wanted to have a proper look at him at AFL level you need to give him some midfield time.

Ben Keays 2.0
Yeah.

He's not as skillful as Ben but quicker and just as tenacious.

You do have to wonder with the reduced number of games a lot of these guys have been getting at VFL level the last couple of years and the lack of intensity such as last week as to their development. And how many will slip through the cracks.

I'm worried about that for a few of our 23 to 30 in the list currently.
Deven, Prior, Madden, TBerry etc
Yes although they need to be having outstanding games each week in the VFL to put pressure on.
I add Sharp to this list as well.
Problem with a settled 22 is how do you bring players in.
Fagan does not seem a coach 1-2 bad weeks for established player 14-22 zone your dropped.
without injury I say Ah Chee, M Robbo and J Berry. You do wonder if Mitch last year.
All three probably still offer more than those in wait. Why they need to push VFL form show they are above VFL level

You would think Sharp is the frontline option to replace Robbo eventually.
I don’t really think that is a given.
We have others in the team who can fill a wing role like AhChee, Answerth.
If Answerth were to move to a wing it will allow another player currently not in the 22 to move into the backline like Kiddy who may come in anyway when he is fit, Madden, Wilmot.
There are other options.
Would also allow Zorko to stay back when Kiddy is back in the team.
Mitch looks to be labouring to me and is a bit off the pace which is a little surprising when he has had an uninterrupted pre-season apparently.

Does the fact that his brother is at the Lions, have any influence in Tom deciding whether to move or not? Not ideal to be named emergency or specifically 23rd man, too often as happened last year with Tom.

Pretty confident that most if not all of the below would get regular games at some of the weaker clubs;

Dev really like him but cannot see him playing permanently in the mid or wing this year as Sharp seems to be favoured for the wing. From WA and I believe he would get a start at the Eagles next year.
Payne has no hope replacing Andrews, Adams, or even Gardner. If Gardner signs a new contract surely must want to leave. Lester named emergency so I think Payne's papers are marked. Even though contracted, could see him at Nth Melbourne with Ben McKay.
Tom Berry, love his enthusiasm and will to get to the contest, seems as hard as nails, disposal at times needs to improve but must be thinking of leaving to get a regular opportunity.
Prior, can't see him getting a regular run this year, another from WA who would be close to getting a start at some other clubs.
Kiddy, one of my favourite players and now with Zorko playing back, might struggle to get back in the team, but is so classy would get a gig at a number of clubs.
Fullarton, not sure on Tom but although 23, has not played more than 20 games and think there is still some development
Madden, as we know super fast, disposal can let him down a bit but his speed to get to the contest is a big plus.

most of the above named are contracted beyond 2022, but suspect at least one or two might want to seek opportunities elsewhere.

J Berry is an interesting one. Where do you rank his output against someone like Prior? Prior has better skills, more composure but probably doesn't have the tank to perform run-with roles.

You would think Sharp is the frontline option to replace Robbo eventually.
I believe the club hopes Sharp can perform an Ed Langdon role on the wing
