See above. We'll have 15th pick in our pool, the other 13 are completely irrelevant to us.
There are some who overlap in terms of which pools they nominate for (eg. Vic Metro vs Vic Country, or just people happy to hop states), but generally there's no more than 1 or 2 in the first 30 each year.

Some of those non-Vic picks could turn into Victorian picks via trade though, and vice-versa.

They got rid of the Vic metro/country divide a few years ago, and players can only nominate for one state.

But it is useful to keep track of where your picks are in the national context because what they translate into in terms of the Vic draft is still up in the air.

Personally, I'm holding on to the (admittedly small) hope that the makey-uppey practices of the AFL/W might fall our way.

They're calling this a "preliminary draft order", and I know that trades etc will affect that, but they also said that some clubs might get something for the players they lose to expansion sides. Given that we're going to lose an AFLW B&F and 3 time club B&F winner, plus a widely touted forward to the 'stains, they may just see their way clear to give us something in return.
