Why the froth for Wade? We have listed players performing better?

*Note no measure on intensity.
Fwd/ruck

Great to have a developing one seeing as Lobb has one foot out the door

Seen a lot of promise and isn't the finished product at 20 after a growth spurt

Rookie pick so a free shot at a good players convinced he has the tools to make it at AFL level, even if he fails forward he has the athleticism to be a defender, is a bit like how Pearce was a midfielder until his growth spurt, can move well for a big fella (hopefully derksens body holds up better)

Might’ve missed the boat for a developing forward/ruck to replace Lobb if he’s truly got one foot out the door. Whilst someone developing in the background wouldn’t be a bad thing, we’re not developing a guy to replace Lobb between next week and March next year are we?

I personally think Derksen is undersized for a forward/ruck at AFL (he got monstered by some second string WAFL rucks) but until recently wasn’t aware of how much he’s grown recently so there could be more to come. Still see him as more of a project KPF/KPD tbh.

Lobb can be held for 1 more year if Derksen needs more time so thats a year and a half

Better than picking someone up either after Lobb has left or in November this year with Lobb only having 11 months

5 months V after Lobbs gone
or 17 months V 11 months if he is held for a year

Also, yeah he is a bit undersized but its only for a 15% chopout for Darcy, Ideally Roy comes on in the future and Derksen can be developed as a 2nd or even 3rd tall with his athleticism but Roy is so far off it right now that Derksen would be a shrewd pick

Given Lobb has been playing almost solely as a forward, I would have thought the developing player to replace Lobb would be Amiss. The second ruck would be done either by Cox (like was done in the last game, also justifies having Logue in the side) and/or Treacy.
