R3 will play if there is an option round 1. Everyone will take them. That equates to all the cover you need early on.
Later on in the season r/f can become handy. For bye cover especially.
But I think its easier to make a decision on what cover you need when you need it.
English and Jackson both will score close to high enough for forwards. 80-85 avg. But at there price from my team you are comparing them to Thomas and Butters. IMO id prefer the guys who are getting mid time.

I'm gonna be on the Preuss Express, so I reckon I need cover to prevent the need for a double trade if he goes down. I reckon English has a fair bit of upside, we know his ceiling is massive and he'll be the Dogs' no. 1 ruck more often than he was last year as Martin is as old as real dangly balls. Sweet will get games and then English will be a forward, but he still scores solidly in that circumstance. At 24 I think English can go up a level and do a fair bit better than Jackson will at his tender age, and with Gawn still the big boy at the Dees. I'm happy to run English at F2 with Comben at R3, if the worst happens with Preuss I trade him for a cheap forward and install English at R2 until a bit later when I bring in a Darcy or Grundy and return English to the forward line.

I'm aiming to have DPP links every which way - MID/DEF ( like your Worner pick, at this stage I have O'Driscoll but I have considered Worner), MID/FWD, DEF/FWD and RUC/FWD.

Yep.
I love DPP's. Except r/f i think that is a distraction most years.
Very rarely do they pay off.
I decided if I was going to do a team with 4 premo mids I had better have dpps as cover.
It bends into this without much trouble

Disturbing lack of Nick Daicos in this side
If he was from SA or WA I would be all over him.
Im trying to stay away from Vic rookies due to games missed over the last few years.
He will be a jet on day one i am sure.

Your going to be lucky with Preuss.
He wont complete pre season un injured and you wont get caught with him.
He could potentially be the biggest trap ever if he does 100% pre season.
He cant stay on the park. 4 games in a row is his record.

We should have a friendly side bet mate - JHF vs ND for average and total points. Maybe an avvy or something
Sure.
I think both are likely to go 75+ and be decent rookies.
You guys have more space in your mids for Daicos.
So more mid time you would expect.
I 100% need to take Norths first ever number 1 pick.

Not exactly true.

He's played whole seasons of VFL and rounded up 70 hitouts at that level too. A big part of the reason he's never played more than four AFL games in a row is that even after playing well, he got dropped when Goldy or Gawn came back from injury.

You're right, there's a chance he doesn't play Round 1 in which case my plans change. There's also a chance he plays the first ten rounds and averages 90+ and ends up being a big fat trump card. I'm prepared to risk it

Its not really a case of Horne vs Daicos.
Its Daicos vs Horne, Berry, Cogs, Rayner, Gresham, Phillips, Brodie etc etc.
The high picked Vics from last year did not have great years SC wise. Id prefer someone who has been in the system so is likely to have a better tank.
Each to there own I suppose.

Jack crisp come on man
Not a fan of Crisp?
I think he is a defensive lock considering Collingwoods other mid options.
105 average last year and still a defender.
Yum.

defender sorted by average from last year.
We lose Laird and Mills and gain Ziegull and Hall.

I agree with your thinking.

Nick will be the exception to the rule.

He's special

I allow myself one hunch a year on a north player.
Horne is it this year.
I try to play the %'s on my other picks.
One can be fixed easily if it back fires. He has awesome JS so injury is the only risk.

Id like to kick off with the Horne but I think I'll ease into it.
Horne has to be taken for the puns in the discussion threads.
We are not given such great ammunition every year.
Who will be the first poster to be given a holiday after a Horne post?
Its 100% happening.

Im a stickler when it comes to 200k rooks. 1 only usually.
It s one or the other for me ....Daicos is at m6 for now.
Keen to see if Horne tears a new one in the Wizard Cup games.

Horne was amazing for South Adelaide in the later part of the year.
He runs past peeps like they are standing still. Acceleration is amazing both defensively and going forward.
To me his best attribute is when he is standing 5m from the fall of the ball. You just know he gonna get it and do something insane.
Like Charlie Cameron or Punchable dangerous in those situations.
200k is a lot to pay for a rookie and as you say its usually best to not take many.
He is a lock for me though I have never been so bullish on a rookie.

I think you're missing out by not picking another of the uber premo mids to start. Gonna be hard to chase them at 700k while crisp will stay a similar price.

You need to look a few posts earlier. Crisp will be a defender for me most likely. The post you quoted was after moving my dpps to the mids to show flexibility.
4 is a bit short for mid premos I agree. But If I was going down that route that is how I would do it. DPP cover.

**translation**

“HOW fu**IN GOOD ARE REDSKINS AS MOUTHGUARDS FELLAS!”
Walsh is a gun. But he was skinny as an 18 year old. I wasn't as Bullish because of that.
Horne has God mode. You don't see that very often in 17 year olds.

The bloke who made this 10min highlights real said it could have gone 35min.
You can see the Danger comparisons due to his shear pace.
I don't really see why peeps compare him to Fyfe. I think that is because he is a Freo supporter.
Fast forward to 5.30 to watch him destroy Darcy Fogerty. My personal favourite moment.

After reading the Heartbreak that Preuss will have to share ruck duties I have dropped him to R3 he will still make good coin. All my other teams posted I was just playing around I was never going to start my team without the greatest player of all time the man himself "DUSTY" I think he will be a POD this year.
