Jackson is a second year r/f.
Name one in history that has broken out.
Trappity trap trap trap.
80 average at best and the Dees would be happy with that.
He'll be 3rd year.
There's been one.

NicNat.
10 @ 57.4
22 @ 71.2 (70.3 TOG)
20 @ 93.8 (78.3 TOG)

Strikingly similar to Jackson thus far
6 @ 58.2
21 @ 71.6 (75.4 TOG)
???

NicNat was also splitting duties with with a gun #1 ruck in Cox.

Took NicNat an extra 8% TOG to hit that 90+ mark, don't think Jackson will be able to match that.

Have you seen the Lions fixture the first 10 are all massive scoring games and 3 of them are stepping stones with Berry Coleman and Rayner
For our teams sake I like your optimism and hope you are right. But for those three reckon the stepping stones will be small SC wise. I'm not taking any of them, also not taking McInerney. I'm not dissing our players just looking strictly through SC eyes.

Risky judging Coleman on three games following positional change. Will he stay there? For his 18 other games highest score 73.
Rayner queries on his tank. Low mid minutes. 59 games, 32 scores less than 60. Almost the same as Sabalenka's double fault percentage this year.
McI not sure the improvement is there. Can't see him averaging much higher. Bit of a Fagan/Fort love-in so who knows.
Berry run-of-the-mill player. Inflated average during COVID season.

In saying all that for the Lions sake I hope they prove me wrong.

Kiddy may be competing with Manswerth for a Def role?

Assuming you're upgrading them by the bye at the latest, what price and average do you see those three getting to?

Berry's a great pick imo and has the runs on the board in previous seasons to back that line of thought up. I think he scores at around that 90 mark which would be fantastic at his price and an easy stepping stone at the bye. Also a small, but not impossible chance he becomes a viable M8 keeper.

I get the Rayner temptation too but he's never done anything SC-wise to give confidence. Therefore it really has to be a positional change to get interested in him imo and that's yet to eventuate despite a murmur or too. If he gets meaningful mid time in the pre-season games then that changes but atm I think a 75 average is being generous.

I think Coleman's a massive trap tbh. There's a lot of players around that mid to high 200k range with better prospects imo and there's too much hype around the kid for 3 good scores at the end of last season. Maybe he can string another few good scores together to get that price up but there's easier ways to make cash that provide more points whilst doing so imo. Can't see how he averages over 65 tbh.

Big O I'm all in on. Looks great at training and has that steady upward increase in yearly averages.

Neale is a no-brainer given his price.

I'm not convinced on Bailey from an SC perspective. There's too many mid teen disposal games for his price and he needs more mid time to fix that. Much rather Butters for less $ given he has shown he can score heavily forward of centre, arguably the trickiest place to get points.

I think the biggest problem for the Brisbane mid pricers is there are so many of them; Coleman, Berry, Rayner, Bailey, Mathieson, Cockatoo, Starcevich and Robertson. There's only 3300 points available each match so it's unrealistic imo to think that more than one or two of them will 'break out' enough to justify having them in your team, especially if you're factoring in Neale and Big O rises as well. Coleman aside, they all need more mid time to get their averages up and it's a similar scenario - there's only so much mid time to go around. Cases can be made for all of them but Berry's and Robertson's are the strongest imo.

Now watch this being completely wrong by round 6 when they're all scoring 100+:drunk:

Think he's probably the most likely but my thought was more 80 - 85 with the odd higher score. With a number of similar players chance he gets managed.

Agree. But I've had him twice previously and he burnt me badly both times. Makes me wary. So it's gunna be either third time lucky or strike three.

Everyone'll have Neale so even if he burns you, you won't be comparatively worse off else at least.

One more go before it opens in 4-5 days time. Downgraded Oliver to Ward and upgraded Gould to Milera & M.Rioli to JDG. 9.3k itb

Weak midfield i know but i think the trio of F.Macrae/Daicos/Ward will get plenty of opportunities to score well by rookies standards. Thomas or JDG is looming as a really tough decision for me.

Thoughts welcomed/encouraged
