Where is Luke Jackson? You really know how to back your man don't you 🤣
Only if I don't run 2 premo rucks but I'm liking a Darcy and Grundy/nicnat combo rn

Sure. But whoever wins SC will be upgraded early.
You are only really spending your trade boosts.
Your are doing the same amount of trades as a team who waits the extra weeks.
And your upgraded earlier.
Heading into round 12 with 22 premos will help the whole way through the byes.
No upgrades needed. Just juggling a few rookies.
Depends on which premo's you have though. You'll be down on quality compared to those with more cash. You are also vulnerable with less trades available to missing the players like Hall last year who break out in the second half of the season. Or to carnage.

It very well might work, but I don't think it's as simple as you make it sound :p

Its far from simple.
You need to pick the best rookies to begin with from 1 pre season game with scores available.
All or most of you midpricers need to end up keepers.
And injury trades will happen also.
But the goal is not to finish top 500. The goal is to win the whole thing.
I will struggle with the 2 down 1 up weeks.
The temptation will be to get the best available and not keep cash for the next week.
Patience will be key.
I think keeping trade boosts until after the byes means they have less value.
We will all be full premo come r14-15. Its just injury trades after that.
I struggle to see why you would need more than one trade boost left. 3 trades in a week is excessive when you are already full premo.

A traditional & proud history of my team's performances

My teams historically have been poor in total team $value .....I buy best available with the $$$$ .....and then they regress .......BUT !!!!! ...This is a new year !!

Finished top 200 last year and never completed my team ☹️ (Carried Daniher all year). If you complete your team by the byes you will create SC history.

Yep,
New year new rules.
The potential is there to upgrade quicker.
It wont work for everyone.
But anyone who nails it will be well on the way.
180k accounts last year.
We will have a bunch this year who really nail it.
TBH keeping Daniher all year was a good move.
He was only scoring like 7-8 points below a keeper.
You clearly spent your trades in better places.

I don't think that you'd need your MP's to become keepers, what I want is for my MP's to average at least 25 pts over their starting price, they then become uber mids with 3 trades.

Take kiddy Coleman for example, if he keeps his role from late last year then he's a Monty to average 75 which would put him around 400k, I could use 2 x 250k rooks and buy a premo at 650k, bonus would be having Daicos get Def/Mid so I could swap him to Coleman's spot until his rnd 14 bye. It's exactly the same scenario for Curnow and JHF. Of course if you have a rookie valued at 370k then it's only 2 trades.

I currently have 7 MP's in my team and would be stoked if 1 of them becomes a keeper. They're all in my team though to make money and score better than on field rookies.

I reckon that I'll have to make 10 upgrades at least, probably 11. So it's not possible for me to complete my team before the start of the byes, I will be aiming though to have the team complete by rnd 14.

I don't take Midpricers if there is zero chance they become a keeper.
You still need to do a downgrade to upgrade any stepping stone.
What would be the point?

The point is that you use less trades to upgrade them to an uber premo, giving you the opportunity to start more 'value' picks like Petracca/Walsh/Titch/Jelly/Neale (I'm going down this path on all lines) who I see are undervalued by around 10/15 pts each. I still want to get the Macrae/Steele/Touk types but I'll target them once they've identified themselves or have come down in price a bit. Price is not a game changer for me as the withheld value in the MP's make it easier to get a 650k+ player into the side.

I used the example of Coleman to show that you need 2 x rookies at 250k (or 1 rookie at 370k) to achieve the outcome that I'm aiming for. People, for some funny reason, don't factor in how many trades you need to use to get those uber premos. So you actually need 4 trades with one of the rookies at 300k and the other 3 at 250k to get a 650k+ player.

It's really a 'whole team' approach though as no pick can be taken in isolation, whoever you choose has an impact on how the rest of your team is made up.

The other factor in why I take them is their JS and better scoring over rookies, particularly Def and Fwd, ATM I have Curnow at F6 and Kemp at D6.

7 midpricers is to many imo.
We don't have 7 good ones this year.
Most have either shown nothing or have had injury discounts applied.
I agree they are great up forward. Less so in defence. But taking them in the mids or rucks is sacrificing a 110avg score (which should be the goal.)
You will end up with 3 x M8's
Rowell is the best midfield/ruck mid pricer this year by a fair margin and he wont go 110+.
Coleman, Rayner, Rioli and Cogs are great options because they only have to average 85 to be a f6 keepers.
The idea behind MPM is maximising the keepers you have in your starting team. So you need less upgrades down the track.
Not to load up on stepping stones that you still need 2 trades to move.

Has there ever been a good mid price ruck?

They are more attractive forward as the rookie's there are usually terrible.

How is Fort going to effect Omac?
I thought reports were he was playing forward until Hippwood is back.
I don’t see Fort playing much at all if any he’s mainly been in the probables team Brisbane’s first 4 games are Port Essendon North and Geelong none really play that 2nd ruckman

No but he made enough to be worth it.
Probably true.
I just don't remember seeing his name in the top ranked teams much last year.
It was Gawn, Grundy, Nicnat and Darcy.
I think if your taking Hickey at the start of 2021 you are fine with risks.
Therefore you will take more midpricers.
