Watching some of the highlights on KAYO now, our boys really have bulked/toughened up, and I cannot stress enough how much of a psychological advantage and boost that is to our boys. I am not saying we should end up crossing the line or acting like rent a thugs but as I said previously, comparisons from the Demons 3/4 years ago is apt.

We are no longer scared or intimated from any team or player in the comp

The boys (not necessarily today) have now matured and evolved as a group to prove that we won't back down or be intimidated anymore.

I don't believe we will win the flag this year, but the firm foundations and stones have been set in place.

I honestly don't fear facing any team in the comp anymore, no not even Melbourne.

When was the last time i/we could honestly say that as passionate, but objective Carlton supporters ?

Great win, to go from where we were at last year to being 6 - 2 and playing with such great structure, team defense and self belief is amazing.

We aren't settled yet and I feel like we have had to shuffle players a lot so far, if we can get the right mix together for the majority of the season ahead, we are in for a fun ride!!!!

I can’t believe some people are jumping up and down about the last quarter “fade-out”….fade-outs don’t matter when you are 66 points in front at 3 quarter time…my name suggests I can quite negative but even I can’t get my head around that!
spent a lot of our petrol tickets - a team getting belted all day often kicks a bunch of easy ones in the last cause the winning team has done more work

Top 4 Blues - :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I would rate today as good as we have been this season and the third quarter bought back Premiership quarter memories from the 80s.

Charlie just seems to be getting better each week and i thought Cerra played his best game for us. Very good performance by about another dozen and sets us up for a go at the Sydneysiders in the next fortnight.

Anyone know what the crowd was today ?

25,000. Was much easier leaving the ground.

6 and 2, top 4.

We ARE BACK BABIES !!! :carlton:

Being saying it since pre season.... there is NO LIMIT to what we can achieve this year.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY 😍 :thumbsu:

Best I have felt about our team for quite a while - the real work starts next week though (10 reasonably tough games before we play Crows again)

Crippa’s going to get cited for that bump on Murphy isn’t he… I mean it was just brilliant, but the guy was subbed off. And Christian can’t help himself.

The tackle on Murphy... then I think he ran through him later on in the game.

How good is it sitting there in the last quarter knowing the game is in the bag. Been a while.
Thoroughly enjoying myself at football again. Been a while.
Going into every match now, expecting to win. Been a while.

As for the game - Charlie, Crippa are stars of this competition. Good to have them back.
It told you all Youngy will make us forget Jones quickly and wait until Marchbank comes in.
All this with key personnel still missing. Love footy again. Keep it going baggers......
youngy - gotta be happy there, sb........

Agree. We go in with some confidence and belief. If the boys bring the right attitude however, we will come out the other end in a very, very, very good position to play finals. Yes, the I said it and I’m proud of it.:p

I'm the ultimate pessimist but our next 10 games are all 50/50 at worst with a few easy ones in there..

Two pretending Sydney teams. Essendon. Collingwood. Richmond. Dockers in Melbourne. The imploding saints West Coast. Geelong at mcg. Gws in Melbourne and then the Crows again.

That is about as good as the draw can get other than playing North every week.

Agree. Owies is really struggling and out of form. Credit to Durdin for getting up the ground and supporting defensively.

Sad that Honey has been injured, would've been a handy option. Motlop is very close to being ready. Our lack of ground ball presence in F50 is a glaring weakness.

We get more crumbing goals from McKay and Curnow, ffs.
I haven't watched every reserves game but of the fair bit that I have watched motlop is still a fair bit off. Has some tricks but not enough substance yet.

He is doing his apprenticeship. As he should be.

In great form. Adding Marchbank (in the form he was in yesterday) will be a major boost to our defence.

Williams Young Marchbank
Saad Weitering Docherty

With depth of Newman, Plowman, Boyd, etc. Very nice.
Dunno how but we need to make room for Stocker back there also.

Your starting 6 plus Stock rotating off the bench. Get those 7 playing together and to gel well. Would tick all the boxes you need of a back line.

Short memories.

Last week Owies kicked 2 and laid 8 tackles...

today he missed 1 easy shot at goal (maybe more?) but still laid 5 tackles....
With 72 inside 50s today both being kept goalless is not final winning footy. That is not to say they are useless and get rid of them, of course not, I believe 5hey are both AFL quality, they may need a spell in the twos to work on some things that the coaching staff have identified.
