what's his best? have we seen it or is he still getting there?
Took him 15 years but he got there..hmmm......that seems a pretty obvious start even his junior coaches should have been running with him - is he that crippled on the right though? even simmo was adequate by the end of things.......
Seems like a great way to improve his right a bit at the expense of his preferred. He should be working on his opposite but not something anywhere as drastic as that. Don't need to be Sam Mitchell, just a serviceable opposite is probably enough to get him out of trouble and keep defenders questioning which way he'll go (rather than knowing he'll always try to find a way onto the left, just like Willo)His best is good but thinking he is too reliant on his left peg. To improve his right side I would like to see him only kick with his right foot over preseason. It will make a world of difference. Become comfortable with the uncomfortable.
From what I've heard Diesel is just telling 'em to harden up (mainly). Also, helping with skills and (body) positioning for midfielders.I think the point is that Voss and the coaches need to be in charge of training, so anyone else who is involved (like Diesel) needs to be following Voss's instructions. But Diesel is above Voss in the hierarchy, therefore Voss needs to be following Diesel's instructions. So having Diesel getting hands-on at this level creates the potential for confusion / clashing instructions / undercutting of the coaches / etc.
That said, there's no evidence at present of any such problem. Hopefully all parties can manage Diesel's involvement to everyone's benefit.
Just rewatched our game from round 1 last year, that was a really good game to watch. Fisher, Dow, Setters, Doc, Fogarty all had great games (not to mention the typical contributors (Walsh, Cripps etc)).
I reckon we beat them this year, it’s our time
Is it? From a corporate governance perspective it’s a tad concerning. That said, in Cook we trust.
Never understood this "must win" term. I don't believe these absolutisms are helpful on any level.R1 against tiggies is a must win game for our players. A win will allow them to overcome the mental hurdle they’ve suffered for so long now. A win will set them up for a good year.
Corporate - Shmorporate!!!
Yeah agree but also we have the cattle/talent now so I’m thinking that “some stage” should be now.R1 isn't a must win but there's no doubt it would provide a massive confidence boost if we did walk away with the 4 points.
It sucks that we've walked away from the season opener with a loss for I don't know how many years, but there was a time where the shoe was on the other foot and that time will come again at some stage.
Go figure… (H.B. for tomorrow old fella)damn I love daffy - suck a conniving prick of a thing..........
Yeah agree but also we have the cattle/talent now so I’m thinking that “some stage” should be now.
Also, I think the core of the group has had significant pre-seasons.We've certainly got the talent. But it's not as though they're a bad side either, despite a relatively poor 2021.
Boys are back ...
Doc
He's on a good wicket too.Williams unlike our other directors is full-time and paid in his role as footy director. If the intent was just for him to fulfill his governance responsibilities he wouldn't need to be. I suspect there is an agreement that he supports part time as a skills coach in addition to his board role. It allows him to be closer to the football program and gives the club an extra coach paid outside the soft cap.
