Admittedly I haven’t seen much of this years draftees, but the one starting to grow on me is Phillipou. Moves like Bont with that size and left foot. Looks like he has been pegged around the #10 mark though so don’t know if he is really in the frame at 5.

By the sounds of it, the only knock of Tsatas is his defensive work rate and questions around whether he has the mindset to work on it? Not sure how true that is or how off putting it is, but I guess we will find out if he is there at 5 given we don’t have much time for mids unwilling to work hard both ways.

I still think Humphrey will be the pick in the end, whether that is the best choice or not.

If Tsitas slides to us I've got no problem taking him at all, but if it's Tsitas available rather than pick 5 (6) then we might get a better offer to split that pick on the night itself
Can we even use an extra pick?

Wonder if what North would want for pick 3 (assuming Wardlaw is still there).

I wouldn't be upset with this if it was our pick. Captain of Gippsland Power and played for Vic Country. Had 31 disposal and kicked 4.5 against the Northern Knights in Round 14

Every club looks to be clambering for that match winning ability that he has shown.

Ticks a lot of boxes for us as well. Country lad, strong leadership credentials, can play multiple positions.

I don’t know if can fix that kicking style though.

This, the footskills are a serious problem.

Craig Cameron said we will look at bringing in a powerful midfielder, Humphrey fits the bill, as does Wardlaw. Tsitas is super quick, MacKenzie?

My preference is clearly Mackenzie but it seems like we are leaning towards a Ginbey or Humphrey, with what Cameron is saying. Little bit worried about Humphrey's ability to translate to the AFL level

Yeah I’m team Humphrey

Sounds like both Ginbey and Humphrey tick a lot of off-field boxes, great character and attitude. Good chance they will get the best out of themselves.

After Ginbey's combine, also a good chance they will fall in love with that athletic profile. Everybody wanting a bit of that Petracca, Dusty, Danger, DeGoey power play. Hard to stop, and you can't teach it.

My problem with Humphrey is yes he is powerful at under 18 levels but he doesn't have a whole lot of body development left eg Sam Flanders. He isn't going to blow people away with speed or power in the AFL and his kicking is atrocious. Hope he proves me wrong but I dont see it like others do.

You could make a case for any of wardlaw, tsatas, ginbey, phillipou, Humphrey. All powerful in their own way.
I probably rate them in that order, with McKenzie added in after Ginbey.

Would be nice to take a bolter in Ginbey/Humphrey and watch them thrive after the Oliver debacle though. Both good characters who would buy in as well by the sounds of it.

Would Wardlaw fall to pick 5? is the question. People expect he'll go to north with Sheezel.
Don't think he'd get to 5. If we were all in for him we'd have to trade up to 3 I reckon. I would seriously consider a play for him but highly unlikely it happens. I'm thinking tsatas if he gets to 5 or ginbey.

Not too fussed who we draft this year, looks pretty average/even.

Would love Wardlaw but highly doubtful

Dream scenario for me (I know impossible)

Trade pick 5 & steak knives to hawks

Hawks give F1 (pick 1-3)

Pick up Dan Curtin/Harley Reid before Jed Walter bid.

Hawks get 2022 5&6 & steak knives
