Sam Whiteman at $62,500 for those who may want a cash cow. Likely to get the gloves for Perth Scorchers, leading runscorer in Marsh Cup this season (number 1)................Bat top 4 in the last Marsh Cup game. I would imagine coming back from the Sydney Thunder (played with them last season), he will get more responsibility being in the Top 4? He did bat at number 3 for Sydney Thunder in his 3 games for them last season.
Retired in international cricket , not BBL cricket. Will play this season for sure.Thought Finch retired, will he play or not.
No current season stats available
De Kock to retire from ODIs after World Cup in India
De Kock's availability for South Africa had also become an issue after he signed up for the BBL recentlywww.espncricinfo.com
I want to stay away from Josh Brown now, he has a break even of 85 in Round 1. that seems a tad high for me, for a player that has only achieved above that score once in BBL
Dont buy into the hype of Nathan Lyon with the Melbourne Renegades. He will prob get 1 or 2 games during the season.
Im sold on Kellapotha
Melbourne Stars XI for opening game: Thomas Rogers, Stoinis, Sam Harper (wk), Cartwright, Maxwell, Kellaway, Webster, Coulter-Nile, Liam Dawson (Import), Paris, Scott Boland
Pakistan dont release their imports , so wont see : Rauf, Usama Mir and Imad Wasim early. Steketee is with PMXI.
Stars also seem to be this season, to be one of the least affected sides with international duty overlap.
And the Sydney Sixers predicted XI:
Sydney Sixers on Friday: Steve Smith, Philippe, Daniel Hughes, Henriques , Silk, Tom Curran (Import), Kerr, Dwarshuis, Abbott, O'Keefe, Naveed (Import)
The team kind of picks themself. I dont see too many changes . Vince doesnt play their first game because of a clash with the UAE T10s. Patterson doesnt get in ahead of Steve Smith. And somewhere done the line you would imagine, Todd Murphy gets a game when Naveed departs for international duty.
Tom Curran is a name that has gone a bit undernoticed as an import? Sixers have alot of these all rounder/pacer types in : Kerr, Abbott, Tom Curran and Dwarshuis. You imagine 1, possibly 2 - come off in a game, but not all 4 at the same time. So that can be a bit tricky in picking the right one.
The 85 score is based on 3 Round 1 matches ....that makes a bit more sense now.He has three games to score above that breakeven though.
When he arrives I'll believe itSo that settles it, he is here for round 1. Bugger.
Damn your right......That's a pretty bad team. If Maxwell and Stoinis don't fire they are pretty much screwed. Webster is in the tour match isn't he?
I have $313k cap space left, is the aim of Round 1 to use up as much cap space as possible? or to leave some room for Round 2 ?
