Reminder to everyone that this game is very much based around luck, and you shouldn't spend much time or energy thinking about it.

Yep. **** the overall. Absolute crapshoot. I play to target top weekly scores. Eyeing round 2 and 3 at this stage. Then will set my eyes to Round 6 and 7. Won't have a Heat player in the side come round 3 except Wildermuth and Johnson should he play, and four of the Strikers I use in round 2 will be the same 4 i use in round 6 so will sit on the pine round 3. As soon as Johnson plays, he is coming in as his price will rise and Ill need him for the later round I am targeting

My bench is all about Round 2 and 3 at the moment.

1 is not out of the equation because a lot of people are going to play a lot of Heat players and most the ones they start will be potatoes

Most REAL scers won't be starting any more than 4 Heat players.

History says that a decent overall ranking is far more achievable than a round win

Don't get me wrong, I am targeting the overall as well, hence why I am starting with Short, but if I am not top 500 come end of round 3 I am no chance for that and it's all about hunting the right rounds.

No it's not tbh

The history of coaches who've done well in this format suggest its not based on luck
The difference between a good player score and a bad player score is too wide (and higher in probability than it is for AFL Fantasy) for this to be considered a game worth taking seriously.

Hobart have picked up Peter Hatzoglou. Does anyone see a world where both Hatzoglou and Dooley bowl an 8 overs combined?

I for one do.

I can see a world where batsman pay more respect to Dooley and look to attack Hatzoglou in BBL 13.

Hobarts strength looks like its strength lies in bowling: Dooley, Hatzoglou, Nathan Ellis, Meredith and Chris Jordan

Hatzoglou is $108,800 is about half the price of Dooley.

I believe Sangha is the better choice and is cheaper

My current bench. Im happy with all of these players and can use an onfield loop depending on how Wood and Maddinson perform.
McDermott admitedly did look decent with the bat last night in the T20 game against India.

I feel like Sangha also bowled well especially against a much vaunted Indian lineup in terms of batting.

I am conflicted with McDermott

Because I am going with pricey guys starting both Billings and Whiteman round 1, and knowing Billings is going to turn into De Kock, I am thinking of just saving money and sticking Nielsen on the bench permanently as Whiteman is the wicket keeper cover anyway. De Kock will turn to Inglis or the best keeper when he goes back so I am covered regardless.

But it means I sacrifice McDermott and if he finds form from a couple years back, he will probably end up being the best keeper and it means De Kock can turn into a pricey allrounder. Big if though

Which makes it even more impressive that a bloke has won back to back.
From memory I think Diabolical has 2 wins, 2 top 50s and 2 top 100s in the last 6 sc bbl seasons

Easily the best SC BBL player in history

So I know whose team to copy. Pity I won't trade as well.
His round 1 team scores have been pretty average tbh

It's exactly that, his trades and forward planning is off the charts brilliant

Been experimenting a bit. How crazy is it to not play Maxwell and trade him and other Stars in at the end of round 2?
I reckon at $118,300 for Maxwell in Round 1 thats a pretty fair price to get him in for Rd 1.

If he goes bananas in Rd 1, you may not see that minimum price again.

Given what he has done in India recently, be a brave man to suggest he will go backwards before he goes forwards.

I compare Maxwell to a Hardie $178,300, a Dwarshuis $183,700 in this double round and I can see a world where Maxwell scores a 50+ odd and gets to roll his arm for 3 overs in each game in the double.

His confidence is sky rocket high and it seems like with Zampa gone now, im not sure how much the Stars will want to bank on Dawson entirely with spin.

Watch the major reshuffle for everyone

Neser playing game 1 for heat, and available for games 2 and 3 - no idea if he plays 1, 2 or 3 games

Harris Rauf now available to play rd1 for Stars

Both great death bowlers

Yeah but he notoriously starts off BBL slow and he has had a huge 2 months.

I don't buy the game is all luck argument. It's variable game to game and round to round but over the course of a season it is consistently the same people getting in to the top 10, top 100, top 1000 etc because so much of it depends on your ability to forward plan given the schedule.

It would be weird for a guy listed to play for PMs XI, to all of a sudden rock up to be ready for Game 1.

One gets the sense if they removed Neser out for that game as a pre-cautionary measure and to manage his load, he will be unlikely to play all 3 BBL games in Round 1 for Brisbane.

I too think Neser is a stay away play for me. Job security is the big issue for Neser -not only for this round but throughout the whole of BBL13. If somehow he miraculously starts Game 1, you wouldnt be banking on him starting Game 2 and/or Game 3 in this same round. Just has a total air of 'uncertainty'.
