It would be weird for a guy listed to play for PMs XI, to all of a sudden rock up to be ready for Game 1.

One gets the sense if they removed Neser out for that game as a pre-cautionary measure and to manage his load, he will be unlikely to play all 3 BBL games in Round 1 for Brisbane.

I too think Neser is a stay away play for me. Job security is the big issue for Neser -not only for this round but throughout the whole of BBL13. If somehow he miraculously starts Game 1, you wouldnt be banking on him starting Game 2 and/or Game 3 in this same round. Just has a total air of 'uncertainty'.

Plus if he is under an injuryccloud or whatever, chances are he will do bugger all and his price will dip

Having a stab at the Hobart Hurricanes team in Round 1 (single for them) because I have had a stab at 6 other BBL sides in their first games.

I kind of think their side sort of picks themself in bowling and based on players that were on recent tour of India.

McDermott
Caleb Jewell
Wade
Sam Hain (import)
Tim David
Corey Anderson (Import)
Chris Jordan (Import)
Mitch Owen
Ellis
Dooley
Meredith

I see the specialist bowlers bowling the majority of the overs there. Im starting to warm to the idea as Chris Jordan from out of nowhere to be in team potentially in the next round for Hobart. He is the one likely to be batting more up the order of those bowlers.

I dont think Hatzoglou plays Round 1 since he is in the UAE in the T10s. Also Hatzoglous team in the UAE T10 league is around finals contention, so it prob means he misses Round 1 , given Hobart play on December 11th.

I reckon Hatzoglou replaces Mitch Owen though once Round 2 Starts.

They are better playing that Chauhdry bloke instead of Jordan and use Stanlake or another fast bowler and play one of Dooley and Hatzoglou.

From what I have heard Chaudhary is more of a batsman - all rounder, than bowling- all rounder.

I did like those highlights I saw .

Just feel that Chris Jordan taking up one of those international spots - he has to play for me. Of the more recognisable names: Hain, Jordan and Anderson, you would think Chris Jordan gets that 1st international spot on Hobarts list.

I havent seen much of Chaudhary bowl before. Again its job security for me. If he was a guarantee to play the first Game, I probably would have used him on the bench - since he has a pretty low price.

He's in for me

If he plays he'll score well

And I expect him to play all 3 games in Rd1

Connolly hot 90 odd and took 2 wickets today.

Not touching Neser. He was removed from the tour game to be managed. He ain't playing 3 games. CA won't let him.

Prefer to run with Tye if i am spending that money

CA have left him outta the test squad.
Morris is there future
His time is BBL heat

Bowling 12 overs across 3days doesn't compare to 15overs in a day in the PM XI as well as time in the field

I'm committed to starting these 4

Jhye Rich
Neser
Curran
Hardie

Renegades my piece of the puzzle I'm just not sold on atm

Renegades bowlers priced hard.

Zampa may not be about wickets
Mujeeb not a big scorer
Richardson under injury cloud/injury prone
Siddle will be managed
Rogers expensive

The only one for sure to go with is Sutherland.

McGurk, Maddinson and maybe Harvey are the ones to look at cheap. Clarke if you can fit him in.

Round 1 will give best indicator of that mob.

My final team predictions for the Thunder, since I have now done all team previews for opening round. Sydney Thunder Predicted XI for their 1st Fixture on Tuesday December 12:

Bancroft, Hales (Import), Gilkes (W/k), Jason Sangha, Ollie Davies, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, McAndrew, Chris Green, Gurinder Sandhu, Tanveer Sangha

The risk there is Daniel Sams. I am basing this on his team being 5th in the T10 league in the UAE. On current form his team would miss the Playoffs (but alot can change between now and then).Should his team make it to the Grand Final, he will be in the UAE up until December 9th. You would imagine a 3 day turn around maybe means Sams misses the opener.

Alex Hales is playing in T10 league and his team is last and very unlikely to make the playoffs.

They are certainly interesting

I'm not sold on Sutherland either, think he'll bat 5-7 and they have a line up where overs are not guaranteed.

They're a hard team to get a read on

I think Sutherland will bowl 4 overs unless he is expensive and with their batting lineup, can see him get good chunks of batting. A lot of them are hit and miss

In Round 1 , its a Joe Clarke v Sam Harper for me.

Im warming to Sam Harper given how good he has been going in the bat in other forms domestically this season.

Looking at it more. Needs to be a top order player with 2 games. Goes to Clarke, Harper, Philippe, Whiteman, Inglis

Billings will bat too far down the order.

With Neser playing, Wildermuth won't play. At least you can shuffle things around when teams are announced. Pretty much whoever are the bowlers will probably stay that way for the other two games unless Spencer Johnson plays, in which case he won't play all 3.

The only heat players I am convinced are playing all 3 are Billings, Munro, Walter, Bryant, Bartlett and Kuhnemann. I don't have Billings and I don't have Munro. Going a two-game allrounder instead. Have the other three on the field and Bryant on the bench.

Bryant almost zero chance of playing all 3 imho

Renshaw, Brown, Wood will all impact batting team selection

The others make sense

Whats the go with Ahmed for Renegades and does Head sneak a hit in. Thanks in advance.
