Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Totally agree about things out of being out of our control and we will have to navigate them. But what I can't fathom is that we have to deal with the inequality of equalization favouring certain clubs, yet the spotlight was shined on our club this year as if we were rorting the system unfairly for merely rebuilding. We didn't even finish bottom 2, and probably have already started our ascent up the mount again from next year onwards, compared to the terrible sides in the past our rebuild was never going to take so long but was made out we were going to be a blight on the competition, yet beat the two grand finalists. The AFL doesn't allow criticism of academies and AFL policies etc in media, but were happy for their lead writer to take pot shots all year at us for apparently 'not trying to win' this year. Was/is garbage.
Purple is just dumb. There have been changes made at AFL MEDIA, let’s leave it at that.
Bit like Ralph, but he is employed by the Murdoch empire.
I could not agree me with you by the way.

As far as I know it's easy to determine if someone is fully grown by getting an X-Ray of the growth plate in the wrist & hands. I have no medical knowledge had one of these before to determine if I was fully grown before an operation.

Providing this is allowed and not some form of draft tampering I can't see why this wouldn't have been done and known to clubs.

Thought the marking of only "above average" for speed and agility were a little harsh too. Looks elite as elite can be.

His agility sure looked elite in his highlight reel.

Also I noticed the shower was listed at average for speed and endurance.

At the same time the piece stated he had great closing speed. Huh?

How does that work if he's manning a forward during the closing stages of a game. How can you have elite closing speed if you're average paced with average endurance?

I don't think a lot of thought is going into these bite sized breakouts to be honest.

Basing my preference on who we should pick on nothing more than wanting to be entertained (rather than actually who might be best for us) I'm picking Nick "The Wizard" Watson. We've been blessed to see one of the best small forwards ever in Cyril, we had a bloody good one in Paul Puopolo, and we've still got a champion one in Luke Bruest for a couple more years. From what I've read Watson has bits of them all in his game. Let's keep the tradition of having elite small forwards going by bringing in The Wizard.

Edit quick over first ten = Dunstall level separation on the lead.

Yeah that's all some forwards need, especially if they're quick with their decision making.

Look at Lionel Messi (same height as Watson too). He is quick over his first 10m and with his change in direction, but over longer distances players catch up to him.

That's where I have landed. A lot of them sound like good players but we have been pretty dull to watch for the best part of a decade now. Give me Watson. Pair him with Ginnivan and enjoy the box office.

Watson will be electric. Ginni and him will turn many half chances into sausage rolls
