Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Hmmm. I wonder who the 1st would be? Any ideas TheFourPillars ?
I hate to spread rumours but I hear 4p has pom-poms and a Watson body suit ready to roll.
He may also be sitting in a tree outside Wattos house with binoculars.
The freedom of having your ankle bracelet removed!

Personally I am very much in the Watson camp, but I do understand that the Club is concerned about his consistent defensive skills, particularly as we now have Ginnivan, let alone Bruest. Not much defensive skill there. If Duursma or McKercher are there at our pick it will be very interesting. Nothing is certain.

Watson, Duursma, Curtin, McKercher….it doesn’t matter which one is there for us. They’re all absolute top end talents that we will love.

The good thing, we have a role for all four. No doubt either one will make the List better.

I am also in the camp of trying to get another in OSullivan or Caddy if they are still available on Draft night. If we could at least get a low third back to help with McCabe points, I am very happy to use our 2023 second pick plus our future first to get either of them.

I’d trade our future first to cats for their first pick, if Curtain was still on the board (which is what is suggested in the podcast)

Irrespective of Curtin we're still talking to Cats about their first.

As I suggest, to get the interest of the Cats it will take our 2024 first and 2023 second with hopefully a third back. My argument, should a player be there we want, a deal hopefully can be struck.
If Curtin is still there then surely West Coast will be offering there F1 + something else as well. There's no way they'd let him slip through their grasp.

We don't have a 23 second and all the thirds we have are required for McCabe and Dear.

Don’t know. WC could let him go. Rely on the go home factor. My contact in WA “not convinced”, but if they do as you suggest, so be it.

To date, they have been “reluctant with regard pick1”.

Let’s see what happens on the night, I am not holding my breath, but in aggregate, we are not in a bad position.

I do still think, if a player we like or two are there, it will need the collateral I talk of to make Geelong move.

What about the Collingwood future second? If not why would Geelong trade? I believe it will take more than our 2024 first.
We need to hold a F2 and 3 to be able to trade our F1.
And our F2 is pies so can’t even downgrade it.

A F1 for geelongs pick 8 is a full price. But luckily we practically can’t offer more anyway.

Interesting. Feels a little that Colby/duursma are possibly viewed a slight level ahead of Watson, Curtin.

A dees pick swap for 6&11 (if was on table) still sounds interesting. Curtin could still be there and likely guaranteed one of Windsor, Wilson, Leake.
