Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Fresh this morning - an early trade option that seemed to have stalled now being spoken about again, mainly because WC are very keen on Curtin and North have locked in on Duursma & McKercher.

WC trades pick 1 to us for pick 4 & F1, then trades pick 4 & F1 to North for pick 2&tbd (possibly 15&F2
We have 1, WC 2, North 3&4.

WC get Curtin and another 1st rounder this year plus an early 2nd next year (meaning they would have picks 21&22 in 2024).
North still get their men this year plus an extra 1st next year.
We get Reid.

The AFL would allow the trade to go through as it would help the bottom two struggling clubs.
2024 draft currently seen as a deep draft on quality mids.

Is it just a fleeting discussion

Or are north Not interested due to the price?

Jack Nicholson Yes GIF

I want to believe this will be the outcome. Reid would just be so exciting to have.

If North are taking Duurs and McKercher, why would WC trade up to pick 2 and give away a F1? Seems like a terrible deal.

Where do we get the future 3rd from so we can trade our future 1st?

If North are sold on McKercher/Duursma what are the chances we drop the middleman and just deal with WCE?

I'm assuming North would still be threatening taking Curtin.

Is it definitely Curtin WC want or is that an assumption? Do you have an idea on what else WC want? Seems cheap considering we were apparently asking for Mackenzie during trade period
We know they want Curtin. The sticking point seems to be their deal with another party (I'm assuming Geelong but who knows?).
Interestingly, this isn't our deal I found out, it was originally North's after they saw they couldn't make a deal with WC for pick 1.

Eagles won’t do that deal or anything like it that’s a horrible deal for them. Minimum pick 2 another top 10 and another first round pick which means dees or cats need to be involved. Our best option is eagles hold pick 1 take Reid, north take mckercher and duursma leaving us Watson or curtin or trading back. If dees and dogs both want Watson let them bid for our pick, dogs won’t take curtin so worst case we can trade back on the night and get curtin plus another first round pick.
