Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Butler has been a worry. Showing average form at VFL level and has shown nothing at AFL level. It's hard not to feel disappointed with how he's performed to date. Hopefully he has a big off season and comes into the side. We are sorely lacking a small forward that can pressure opponents, this is a role he may have to make his own.

Curtain can be Rough 2.0. We'll just need to find Buddy 2.0
I would draft Curtin with a view to deploying him exactly as we did with Roughead.
Forward/Mid. His forward potential is underrated IMO.

TBH I want all of the top 6-7 draftees.
They are ALL great talents in different positions who I would love to have at Hawthorn.
That's not the case in every draft.

Sorry mate that’s wrong. I posted on here the likely scenario but you are only removing picks you forgot to add picks in. Each bid adds a pick to the draft so any pick after 38 (suns 6th pick) come in 3 as you add 3 for the bids and lose 6. Then Croft to dogs likely before McCabe for 40s and 50s picks basically hurts us as you add a pick but the picks removed are after ours. Also any leftover points from the last used pick in a bid get converted to the equivalent pick and added in as well.
Whoops, got a tad excited in my excitement.

Not to disparage grandmammy and pop-pop McCabe, but lets just say my generation were the first in the family to not come from heavy drinkers. My dad is 180cm, my grandfather is 175cm and my grandmother is 155cm, and my two brothers and I are all 190cm+. Lets just say the lifestyles of the past were not always congruent with tall children.

Hey who says they are lifestyles of the past? England is pretty depressing most of the time and especially at the moment.

After he watched the club walk Mitchell, Hodge and Lewis out the door.
Hodge retired and was blown away by the ambassador allowance the AFL added to his healthy Brisbane salary.
Mitchell and Lewis just like Crawf and Roughy were offered the chance to explore the opportunity to finish their career elsewhere out of respect from Clarkson for what they had done for the club - park it or explore it. None were pushed out.

I feel like Curtin would be a round 1 lock at CHB.

Here he is in his second WAFL seniors game (against men) looking very comfortable as a KPD. 20 disposals, 6 marks, 5 spoils, 4 rebound 50s, 95% disposal efficiency.

Curtin is unbelievably impressive in this clip! The composure is what stands out.. Very exciting prospect

If things stay as they are and it goes Reid McKercher Duursma as most expect and we want Curtin, I assume the dees and dogs don’t, then we have to trade back especially now with the likelihood of an extra list spot. Required the dees wanting Watson and trading up with us which almost guarantees dogs take sanders and then we get Curtin and something else. Even if everything went wrong we still get osullivan and something else. Osullivan McCabe weddle as LT defensive talls looks good to me.

Melbourne don’t want to trade up 2 spots. They are happy to take whoever slides to their pick and to keep 11 and all their future picks. They get one of Watson, Sanders or Curtin.

I feel like our relationship is becoming a bit repetitive…

I'll say it again. With Chad now officially gone, surely we take Wiz. It's an absolute must.
Chad Wingard is not in the slightest going to impact who we take with our first pick.

Would gws have interest in their 2 picks? Would need a bit more as worse than dees. I know it takes us out of the top 5 but I rate osullivan and pick 16 could be attractive to secure a future first from lions crows freo which would make our ability to trade for a big fish next year stronger. Would also allow us to trade our f1 given we would have a replacement.

We don’t want to move down

Improved in every metric this season.
I would have liked to have seen a bit more from him, but there's clearly an AFL standard player there.

Remember also, his brother was a late developer. Similar skill sets as well. Could be the same for Sam.
