Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

The kid has a lot going for him and has a fair bit of mongrel- he's one I'm tracking but I'm not sure about having a Caddy in our ranks!

Any relation to Josh? If so, and we draft him, then there will be a blanket rule - he's not to go near Day in training.

On a serious note though, he's the forward that I think would compliment Lewis the most.

Nephew I believe!

I think he's got a lot to offer, especially if he's got a bit of growth to go.

Right now I'm keen on:
HReid
AReid
Watson
Caddy/Duurs
I think

Interesting to see how out of favour Will Lorenz is at Oakleigh.

Getting overlooked for serious midfield minutes in favour for the bottom age trio Goss, O'Sullivan and Smith.

He'd be pushing top 10 if he got those opportunities.

Could be good for us if we look to snag him with a pick we may acquire.

Reports in bigfooty draft 2023 thread / page says he has been carrying an injury. Fit now and ready to fire!

If we don’t get Harley and after reading the Day article this morning where he talked about going to school with Ashton Moir a super talent ……. I’m on the Moir bandwagon! This kids kicking is unbelievable and not to shabby in taking a grab. He takes set shots at goal right or left and fires darts with precision!

Elite off both feet, that's a rare talent.

I do like the look of him. Good size and skills and a goalkicker

The kick at the 1.20 mark, absolutely elite

Amazing talent.

For those in the know,
Hows his work ethic?
Is he a flight risk?

Moir looks special but if he is to become a top 3 pick, he needs to show that he has the mental capacity to become elite. It’s a tough game and only getting tougher. We can’t can’t afford to take a kid who has clear elite traits but question marks on how his professionalism (Not saying Moir has question marks )

One of the key reasons we drafted Ward, Weddle and McKenzie recently is because their professionalism off field matched their obvious natural talents.

If we can draft player this year with our first pick who commits himself on and off the field as well as a Daicos or Sam Walsh, we are laughing

It's going to be hard to pass up on Darcy Wilson. He showed his acceleration, speed, and versatility in one particular moment in the first quarter of the AFL Academy vs Carlton VFL game. He charged for the ball inside 50, accelerated, found time and space, and nearly did the impossible from the left point post, but it was marked on the line by Nick Watson, who sent it through for a goal. A player who can do it on the wing, on the inside, and up forward is a very valuable player who rarely comes along.

Has been bad in both Academy Games this year, he will have to have a big championships or he could slide... the same group who talked up Lemmey are talking up Moir, we'll see how he goes? I think calming the hype in this case is a good idea imo.
