Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Watson a more skilful and versatile Puopolo.
Will his attributes allow him to be as prolific at senior level?
Is his risk-weighted upside worth a top 5 pick? 🤔

He's Papley on steroids. Absolutely worth a top 3 Pick.

Dan Curtin is bigger and has more potential than Caddy imo. Can also play midfield.. what a gun. If I'm recruiting, he's pick 3 for mine. Reid 1, Watto 2. Then Duursma, McKercher, Caddy.

Caddy. 25 touches and 6 goals 4.

Get him
I’m also on the caddy-wagon 😉

I said caddy wagon, not paddy wagon! Stupid giff search! 😂

Is Curtin a tad slow?
He is a little bit but other than that he's a monster. I think it's because of his size but it's definitely something that can be improved. Caddy is good too, I guess we can't go wrong with one of those boys, but the versatility of Curtin is huge.

He isn't the biggest of keys though is he? Could he grow any taller? considering Mitch Lewis is almost 200 cm. Not sure but to me he looks like a 3rd tall option.
Caddy's biggest strength is his ability to play either as a forward target or as a third man. Being close to 200cm is a plus as a key forward, but not being that tall isn't really a minus. Caddy's leap, wingspan, bodywork, and marking are all what make him a great key forward, and at 193cm he isn't like Mark Williams out there. If we don't get a good running mate for Lewis (Kosi and Riccardi don't pan out, our other draft targets fall short) he's someone who can play in that space, arguably better than most second key forwards. If we do land on a tall he isn't getting pushed out of the side, he slots right in as a third tall with a massive mismatch on most halfback who would want to run off him. He's the same height as Van Rooyen, Curnow, and Roughie, and no one doubts their credentials as key forward targets. On output, the games I've seen them play, and our current list profile I prefer Caddy to Curtain.

One thing I noticed with caddy is that he isn't a liability on the deck. He brings the heat. Very aggressive with his tackling and defensive work. Need that in the modern game. The only fault I can see in his game is a lack of polish.

Prefer him to curtin. He is a positional need also.

Caddy could become a taller, stronger version of Bayley Fritsch.

If Reid is there at 20 I'd be moving heaven, earth, and a few draft assets to get him in. He's played a lot of Ruck, which I don't think is good for his development as a forward. Much like Max Ramsden, he's a really mobile and agile tall that doesnt have the read or the strength to go 12 rounds in the ruck. Perfect for a chop out, but lets see him as the deepest forward for a whole game again. There's a real world where we end up with Caddy, O'Sullivan, McCabe, and Reid (a world I won't discuss here, lest I get smited by the golden lord himself) as a crop of young talls to grow at Box Hill and come up to really sure up our spine. All four are mobile, productive talls who can play mutliple positions, compete 1-on-1, and play like smalls when the ball hits the deck. It'd still be a D+, but a good way to that coveted C-.

Well said. I think Caddy has more forward craft for sure, but Curtin could be anything because of his versatility so it just comes down to what we need more at the end of the year.
