Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

That's cutting off your nose to spite your face. We've accumulated late picks to pay for f/s bids and delisted players to use those picks which will become worthless. I just can't see the club letting that possibility occur.

If we do secure pick 11 it will be ontraded for future pick(s) if we think a bid will come early.
If we are trading for picks we are doing for the specific purpose of picking up a player. That is what we will do. Pick that player(s)

The Bulldogs will want more than what they gave up to get it which was a king's ransom.

Besides, the right man will be available at pick 4.
We will have 4 & 5 2 talls or a med / small and a tall.

Considering there’s is a reported lack of height in the 2024 draft

They'd just be bluffing themselves, not like they have anything to gain spreading misinformation we aren't looking to move up ahead of them to take Curtin.

It's pretty simple for us, if they take Curtin we go Duursma, if they go Duursma its either Curtin or Watson.
It’s a bluff to make Eagles trade Pick 1.

Eagles currently think they’re going to be able to trade in at 6 to get Curtin with the Dees pick.
North taking him ruins that.

Pick 11 would be swallowed in a McCabe bid.

Pass.

Reckon Geelong would be interested in 11 + Melbourne's F1 for pick 8 + F2?

That way we keep our own F1, get a F2 and take 6 + 8 + McCabe. All for pick 4.

It really is silly season but maybe that could work.

Curtin + Caddy / O'Sullivan / Leake > Watson, absolutely any day. Though the Doggies could always take Curtin instead of Sanders and then we are scrambling.

Curtin makes most sense for North. They have more need for a Curtin type, than Duursma.

Duursma either becomes a Shinbeggar or a Hawk.

Bulldogs won't be trading pick 5. They should end up with Watson or Sanders.

Geelong are keen on Caddy or Wilson at 8.

Maybe we should try for the bulldogs pick 5 with our future first then, if the right man is left on the board for us.

That would be perfect, it would all but guarantee Watson and Curtin. Can't see the Doggies doing that though given they spent a lot to get that pick in the first place.

Edit: the only way it could possibly ever happen is if the Doggies then get on the blower to Melbourne or GWS, as the former may want out of the pick once Watson and Curtin are gone. Doggies move back in to pick 6 or 7 with a later pick going there way as a make weight. They'd still get Sanders. I give it a 3.57% chance of happening.

Agreed. There’s no reason to spread that sort of fluff unless there’s an ulterior motive.

Yep. If North were locked in on Curtin there would be no need for them to pay for a ticket on Tiger airlines and pay for a nights accommodation at the local caravan park for Clarkson to wine and dine Curtin at KFC.

Probably shouted his Zinger combo meal with a Large Pepsi Max (no calories) and even got him an extra gravy and mash on the side. Going all out is Clarko.

Though I've never been to Perth so maybe KFC is considered some highfalutin establishment over there.

Pick purchasing will probably be a total fizzer. Clubs at the top might do it when in cap trouble to add a free agent so the bottom teams will end paying up for picks in early 20’s after father son and academy picks and the top teams will be able to stay at the top longer.
