Delean/Moir/Patton

All wins 20-30.

If the Bombers are remotely interested in Fantasia we might be able to get their pick 30 in return for Fantasia and our Collingwood pick?

Would be an outstanding outcome from Fantasia going back to the Bombers.
Bombers are interested in fantasia 🤔🤨 what? How? Why?

TASMANIAN midfield gun Colby McKercher stamped his name as one of this year's best draft prospects, producing an awesome display to drag the Allies to their first ever National Championships title with a thrilling win on Sunday.

With the Allies' contest against Vic Country well and truly in the balance at RSEA Park, McKercher kicked two classy goals – one from deep inside the pocket and another after an electric sidestep into space – to kickstart his side's third-quarter charge.

McKercher also had 32 disposals, eight clearances and six inside-50s in a barnstorming performance as the Allies claimed an essentially winner-takes-all battle against Vic Country 12.9 (81) to 10.10 (70).

A growing number of clubs have McKercher just behind Harley Reid as the best available player in this year's draft class, with Sunday's performance only set to bolster the 181cm midfielder's standing even further.

McKercher's fellow Tasmanian midfielder Ryley Sanders (35 disposals, five clearances) was also among the game's best, while Sydney's Academy prospect Caiden Cleary (36 disposals, nine inside-50s, seven tackles) was prolific through the engine room.

Fair effort to go undefeated by the Allies. Maybe those hundreds of millions of dollars spent in game development since the big jump in TV/Media $$$ in 2002, especially in NSW/ACT and Qld and to a lesser extent Tassie and NT, are starting to pay dividends.

Vic Metro and Vic Country still have to play each other to finish the championships.

I am still like Ridgeway from Glenelg. He seems to have fallen off of everyone's radar this year. Hopefully over his injuries and about to remind everyone how good he is at finding the football.

Was he playing champs I don’t recall seeing him (didn’t follow them much this year).

There’s not a lot of genuine onballers this draft as far as I’m aware.

I think he played the last state game, missed the lead in and early games of the championships injured. Did enough in last years grand final match for me not to care about what he did this year unless his game disappeared for no reason.

I’m followed his stats for tigers u18’s but can’t remember if I’ve seen vision (probably did last year). He can find the pill but what’s he like when he gets it? We’ve seen the difference guys like rozee butter and jhf make cause they can exit a stoppage by foot and use the ball rather than shuffle it around inside the contest.

Also love to hear your thoughts on rome burgs / Louie Montgomery Gil wakelin if you’ve seen them and are keen to share.

I would have Ridgeway more of a Drew type of midfielder. I would be stunned if he tested with the explosiveness of Rozee and Butters. He has a great ability to get to where the ball is or where it is going, creative with his disposals, seems to have great vision which makes his disposals more effective. Not a chippie sideways stats getter though. Also has a history of hitting the goals.
Jack Delean worries me, his game doesn't seem to have developed since he was an under 16. South still not playing him in the middle or in the higher grades sends warning bells. Defensively he worries me but as one AFL coach said to me , "I don't care if they don't know how to defend, I can coach that"
Yeah no idea on the other guys you listed but from what I hear I will take Burgs in a heart beat at our first pick. (A shame our first pick is not until pick 203 in the 2024 draft.)

Interesting thoughts on Delean. Is it a must for a small forward type to get some midfield minutes?

Maybe I’m being harsh, but feels like Duursma didn’t impress as much as I thought he would. Really thought he would be pushing top 2-3, but feel like he didn’t have that impact and probably sits closer to pick 10. Could also be that some of the talls hit their straps too, rather than Duurs dropping.

Similar criticism of Moir but hip injuries are bastards.

The AFL article on the ‘gold at the suns’ suggested Read could go top 5 - would be surprised, seemed a good ruck but not that good and history suggests rucks rarely go that high.

Like O’Sullivan but wonder if he gets found out at higher levels - would be good to see him play some VFL.

Delean probably gets a run at sanfl level soon think that's going to provide a fair idea of where he is at.

Duursma would still love to get and would take him at the second available pick. If we had that kind of pick.

Moirs season went exactly as predicted before the championships and by playing injured he's ended up a second round pick.

The Crows can't pick him with their midfield issues. The Crows needed him to get good midfield minutes to find an excuse to pick him.

I still think he's an outside chance to slide somewhere close enough for us to do something about getting him.

The more you look at Patton the more you see someone who fills a genuine need if he's still there.

Luca Slade continue to like if everyone else is gone.

Livingstone I'm sure West Coast want because of family ties but I'm not sure what pick they want to use to get him? Love a forward who can get down the ground and ruck and stay involved in the game.

Last picks

Vigo I will sell all day sure the club will look at him if they see something.

William Rowlands doesn't do much wrong at Norwood genuine pace and kicks goals.

Orlando Turner can do the ridiculous.

Are there any clubs with picks between 20-30 that need draft points for FS or Academy Players? We could package our 2 high 30s together.
Maybe for Gold Coast 2nd Pick?

Hawthorn and Dogs have father sons. Sydney, GWS, Gold Coast all have players that project to the first and second round.

There are a few others that will likely fall later both father sons and academy players.

Is there any articles with a list of F/S and academy players for this year?

I keep hearing that the Suns will have 3 academy picks, but not sure about who else.

McCabe a good pick up for Carlton
The Bulldogs get Jordan Croft who is a really nice pick up and likely 1st round pick.

So there's 5 of 18 1st round picks

Though McCabe was the hawks.

Throw in Cleary for Sydney, Brown for Melbourne and the tall forward at GWS, whose name escapes me, and 8 of the first 25-30 picks come from father sons or academy picks. Think Jeff White’s kid is for 2023 as well but probably later.

It’s a good sign that the academies are slowly working. Will strengthen those sides but also add to the overall pool.
