Does anyone know when was the last year we didn’t have the most, or equal most, premierships in the league? My affected head calculations would be early 80s?

We take care of Kidean Coleman and we play in the GF, said it before the prelim…he is a gun

Collingwood shut him down in the second half and wallah!!

Looking back, we allowed him way too much freedom, even when he got it today, he didn’t have the same options as last week.

Precision would look like adding a couple of players to our list that make us a better team in 2024......Collingwood were 1 point away from the Grand Final in 2022 and strategically improved their list. Without Mitchell's in and under work and grunt and without Hill's speed and agility up forward they don't win the GF today.
So what precisely are the "couple of players" we need? Types... positions... attributes?

Looking back, we allowed him way too much freedom, even when he got it today, he didn’t have the same options as last week.

He was killing it in the first half, kept Brissie from being 4-5 goals down at half time.

Most disappointing part for me In The game was Brissie in the 3rd, just went into their shells…chip chip bullshit

In a tight competition, beating a shriveled port Adelaide, limping over the line against GWS… probably the easiest route to the grand final.

They aren’t elite under pressure. The run and gun didn’t work against us and their players went to water when challenged.

It’s a pity the Lions didn’t do what they did to us last week. Went into their shells and paid the ultimate price.

Finishing top of the ladder and then winning the premiership is the definition of elite, better than all others.

Beating a shrivelled Port Adelaide? They beat Melbourne, GWS then Brisbane, three tough hard games, three tough games that they won.

Hahaha their run and gun didn’t work against us, they couldn’t handle the pressure in a single match in the H&A season, so what, they won 21 games out of 26 this year.

The Lions weren’t able to do what they did against us last week because they played a better side who didn’t allow them to play that way.

In more positive news, surely that means Walsh wins the Gary Ayres medal?

Unless he got unfairly penalised for our loss to the Lions he should be a shoe in.

Last week he'll get something between 4-8 votes so should finish on 22-26 votes.

Coleman the only player that looks capable of getting to 22 and he needs 8 votes today to do that assuming he got 10 last week. That would be generous given he was invisible in the 2nd half.

not sure if its been discussed yet, but that game probably seals the gary ayres award for walshy
saw darcy was "chairperson" of one of the voting panels - ns? god he's so tedious and so out of touch with pretty much everything afl

The Gabba is a fortress, only reason they will probably be up there again. They only played 2 games at the G this year and got shown up by Hawthorn and chocked to the Dees

Wonder if they'll request some more games there next year. It's pretty clear that they should

I don't like comparing indigenous players with other indigenous players with some sort of like for like presumption - but - cyril rioli was around his age when he first went to the hawks - he won a norm smith 7 years later - mots has time........

OK Harry Hindsight. What does precision look like for Carlton's recruiting this year?
Players that would improve and inspire our team, immediately
a Ruckman , athleticism & involvement around the ground, an elite quality midfielder, an elite & dynamic, goal scoring mid size half forward.
Regarding incoming players emphasis should be on speed, footy IQ, intelligent ball distribution and kicking skills.
In Austin we trust, I’m certain he has a plan to upgrade the playing list.
