Hi all Player Sponsors,

As you may have seen, in recent weeks we have launched the 2023 Good Friday Eve Lunch to be held on Thursday 6th April at Marvel Stadium.

This event is another fantastic club initiative in not only raising funds for a fantastic cause in the Good Friday Appeal, but also continuing to build on our ownership of this marquee match. With guests from the AFL, Good Friday Appeal and Channel 7 in attendance itā€™s vital that we make a good impression, so weā€™re calling on our coterie members to jump onboard and purchase tickets if in a position to do so. We want the room to be full of passionate North members and fans as excitement builds ahead of the SuperClash the following day.

Guests will be treated to a gourmet two course meal, premium beverages, live entertainment and networking opportunities. We will be joined by some amazing talent including Alastair Clarkson and Jy Simpkin, whilst club legend, David King will breakdown the blockbuster clash the following day. To dig deep in to the impact this match has on the Good Friday Appeal we will hear from Managing Director of Seven Melbourne, Lewis Martin alongside representatives from the appeal.

Date: Thursday 6th April, 2023

Time: 12pm ā€“ 3pm

Venue: Feast ā€“ Medallion Club @ Marvel Stadium

Price: $2,350 for a table of 10 / $250pp (10% of tickets sold will be donated to the cause)

The Good Friday Eve Lunch is not part of your AFL Player Sponsorship package, however tickets are available for purchase at blackthorn ā‹® Events or you can contact me directly.

Hopefully we can see a number familiar faces in the room to support a great cause, whilst enjoying an afternoon of fantastic content ahead of the footy on Good Friday.

As always please let me know if you have any questions and thank you in advance for your support in making this event a success.

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Luke, I have sent you a PM about my account Kangafruity which I dont have access to at the moment. I have explained in the PM, but I have made the payment back in December under Kangafruity. Let me know if you need further funds

I had the god fortune to get taken along to the sponsors event (Arden St tour) last night. It was really well done.

Everyone was broken down into groups and then led through various parts of the building by groups of players, where other players would then give a little presentation of what happened in that section of the building.

It was great how they had the players essentially running the show and was informal enough that you could chat with them all along the way.

I had a long chat with our boy Flynn Perez who is fit and feeling really good and hoping to get back in the seniors.

The common feedback throughout was that the organisation since Clarko came onboard has been a massive positive change and everyone is living being there.

Some other bits in no particular order;

Boomer is (probably) done playing, Shane is pulling the pin this week which should be a massive event but playing together was a large part of the attraction for those guys so thatā€™s the end of a hit of a dynasty.

Dan Howe reckons that itā€™s much more friendly environment, more personal. He reckons that the big losses is a bit of a mental thing, start losing - panic a bit - lose structure, and that it can be coached to prevent it happening.

The game plan is very clear albeit they need to keep working to implement and stick to it. Everyone in the club can follow the team meetings as they are held very centrally within the club. Thereā€™s no veil of secrecy and no one worries about leaks etc. I found this interesting as there seemed to be a bit about leaks a couple of years back. Now thatā€™s not a worry.

If all the coaches that went through they all had good traits. Apparently Shaw is a really good coach but didnā€™t have the support and that combined with the Covid/Qld situation led to disaster. Clarko has come in with all the support and really good people and itā€™s a drastic difference.

A couple of new prizes up, head to the relevant thread to enterā€¦
