Goldy for next year and maybe the year after, mentoring whoever it is next.

But apparently he’s not keen/suitable. I’m just from the outside looking in - he’s a committed shinboner and he leads by example, he’s the only senior head suitable to replace Ziebell and IMO would be the best choice. I don’t think Cunnington would want it. I’m not convinced with LMac. I don’t know who else.

He’s actually joked about it on podcasts and interviews yearssss ago that if anyone wants to take the helm go ahead because it is too stressful.

It was said in cheek but I doubt he want to captain in 2023 especially knowing he can’t make a massive impact on the field anymore.

Couldn’t be a better time for Jy to take over IMO. Off the back of 2 Syds, alleviating it hampering his development. New coach, new footy dept. With all the negativity around Clarko, to have a deserving captain who is also a proud First Nations player, is great for the club.

I think that Jy is the best combination of a good leader, good in the media and someone who leads from the front and whose effort cannot be faulted.

He passed the job interview on Syd night with how he handled that.

I like McDonald but his play and body language can sometimes let him down.

LMac played very well. That should be his standard not the outlier - I'm not sure he even gets a game for Cats as Stewart and Touhy far better players.

Do you think Firrito was no good? He was a very handy player imo. One you could rely upon.
