Just had a read, sounds like he could be a s**t bloke but I’m sure he will mature as he gets older and wiser.
Thats the million dollar question. How quick might he mature, and under what circumstances? We are talking about moving an 18yo boy interstate, giving him $100k and a high profile job. Could go a few different ways for a kid with an alleged attitude like that

Not saying dont pick him. Talent is obvious. Just saying its a risk for a club which has had average leadership for a decade. Big difference between a FIGJAM and that type of behaviour over a period of time

Guess we have to figure out if he Jack Darling or Laurence Angwin

The last name Schoenmaker is a Dutch occupational surname meaning "shoemaker". The literal translation is "shoe maker" or "shoe cobbler"

The stars are all aligning 😍

I think it’s designed to allow clubs to take stock of pick movements due to bid matching, what talent is still left on the table, and what positional needs they’ve been able to fill. That allows them to develop new trading and drafting strategies for day 2.

Understandable, but soft IMO. It's like bye rounds, or more accurately, "rest periods"... it's no longer about list management and survival of the fittest. Recruiting staff get paid the big bucks to perform under pressure, but no, let's drag it out and let the weaker units sort their sh*t out. And it takes away the fun of laughing at other clubs screwing up! Add the mid-season trading and it completes the soulless season, win a premiership with guys you picked up a few weeks ago.

Sorry for the rant. AFL admin just kill the joy year after year.

Just checked the Crows ‘double up’ games. Very Good for us , playing teams who should improve or hold their ground plus Hawthorn their only bottom six double up. All we need now is for them to have another Collective Minds pre-season camp. That 2nd rounder we have of theirs could become rolled gold.
Is the Future 2nd Round Pick definitely tied to Adelaide?

I can't find that confirmed anywhere.

Yeah i think adelaide traded it to gws when they moved up the order to get Curtain
Gws then gave it to us when we dropped back that single spot

What is Shoenmaker apart from a superboot leftie? Don't see the attraction. Shane Savage could roost it too, so what?
Think a taller, 6"3' Daniel Rich of our Half Back line.

The potential is huge as a line breaking option.

Imagine:
Short 30m kick in from NAS to Schoenmaker, quickly play on and launch 60m over the teams defensive zone.

A weapon like that will stretch teams!

FWIW I'd be happy with Schoenmaker, or Murphy or Edwards. All bargains at our pick, so we're in a good spot! Wouldn't be opposed to trading our Future Second to grabbing another bargain

Still available & apparently who we have interest in;

1. M.Edwards
2. A.Hastie
3. O.Murphy
4. C.Nyko
5. T.O'Leary
6. A.Roberts
7. A.Schoenmaker
8. H.Johnston-lets hope so?
9. K.McAuliffe-lets hope so?
10. C.Simpson-lets hope so?

Harvey Johnston played a couple of games for the zebra's. Looked like he had a long way to go.

Collard is a massive flight risk.Is extremely close to his family and wanted to stay home.I work with 1 of his cousins here in Perth and he told me whoever picks him,he will be asking for a trade at the end of his 1st contract.

Apparently is also a very shy kid,but maybe Hill and Henry will help him come out of his shell a bit.

I think the saints will need to spend a lot of time with him off the field making him feel comfortable. He is extremely talented,so was worth the risk for you guys, but I felt whoever picked him(outside of Freo or WC )was taking a big risk.
So similar to what Harley Reid's cousins were telling people?

Straight swap in 3 years then.
