What happened to pushing Trent Rivers into a full time midfield role? He has midfield superstar written all over him. If this move happens (as it should) then we surely dont need to draft another blue chip inside mid. Sparrow is an honest toiler but his development chart has flatlined , whereas Rivers chart has spiked considerably. Get him in, push Sparrow out. Then focus on drafting a Duursma, McKercher, Curtin, Caddy, etc.

2nd for McAdam when we got a 3rd for Harmes shows how Lamb bends over on every trade.

Also giving up an additional pick to move from 14 to 11 is another example

Would be nice to walk away thinking “we won that trade” just once
As if we just threw that in without needing to? If we didn't North or someone else may have trumped us and destroyed our plans and left us with picks we didn't value and weren't going to use

The Sanders thing got me worried that they not confident in turning Clarry around, but then maybe they really rate him above our needs with first pick.

Wtf pick 14 and McAdam for Petty

They have the nerve to offer a bloke 1m a year whose contracted and still try to lowball.

Jackson level compo would be minimum.

Such a hard on for Petty yet refuse to pay up.

This is Dodoro levels from them.

Go bother someone else with your dumb trades.

They have form. Dawson lowball
, waiting until end of trade period to give pick 5 for Rankine, the **** around with Lever almost having the deal fall over ect

But jeez going super hard offering $1m a year for a key player and only going pick 14 is insulting and counter-productive.

I was a little upset that Brisbane Bears got so much nice stuff last trade period, Connor McKenna, Dunkley, Jack Gunston too? Lots of frowning at that one.

Then I saw him play and I spent many times thanking Jesus and Buddah etc. that he moved to the Lions instead of joining us.

Useless campaigner, he's cooked 😂

Lol at offering our own pick back to us. So they pretty much offered us two early second rounders for a contracted player they are willing to pay $800k.

someone GIF

Finally a way to keep everyone unhappy - Melbourne only take two picks to the draft, take an inside mid and a young ruck, then play the inside mid on half forward and the 70kg ruck in the goalsquare.

That’s like begging someone to buy there Ferrari then saying “I only got $200 for it”

Embarrassing as it gets

To be fair, I really can't see us drafting Sanders, our drafting isn't usually that dubm. No surprise we'd interview him when he's likely to be one of the highly rated players still available at our pick.

Contract was 1m in 2024 before tapering back. So yes $1m a year (in 2024).
you don't say 1m 'a year' when its only 1 year of a multi-year contract. It was 800k per year on average over the course of his contract. That was the offer. Othwerwise Nick Haynes is a 1.3 million player 'a year' lol

Bunch of campaigners, turning into the next Dedoro. Acting like the bloke is the next coming of Gary Ablett.

We should just walk him to the draft for $1m in 2024 and **** all in 25/26
