I agree with others that Billings would be pretty pointless if we roll out with the same gameplan and have him doing the same thing as Chandler or Salem at either half back or half forward.

I think we'd be better off playing him as a receiver around stoppages like we did with Jordon at times this year. It's what we've been crying out for with Rivers and Kozzy all year. Guys in the midfield who can actually use the ball.

tbf we all weren't the biggest fans when Goody dragged Melksham across, Essendon also at the time weren't disapointed to see him go.

Not saying Billings will be like that though

It's all well and good to say he can kick inside 50, so can Hunter, Fritsch, Brown, Chandler, Pickett, Trac, Spargo etc. Doesn't matter if we don't get the ball in their hands quickly and in the right spots.

Billings: Super low risk, possibly highish reward.

Possibly just depth but I know I'd rather his kicking skills in the team over Harmes, JJ or even Sparrow.

I like it. Feels a need with quality disposal inside 50, saints paying part of his salary, won’t cost much if anything trade wise and the recruiters rated him highly in his draft year (along with the Richardson factor).
