I'm actually shocked we've shown little to no interest tbh. With the talent pool so shallow this season, surely pick 42 or whatever is worth a punt on the kid?
I don't think we've shown little to no interest? I think it's considered most likely we will draft him, albeit maybe in the rookie draft

DEMONS NOMINATE FATHER-SON

Melbourne has nominated Kynan Brown as a father-son for this month’s national draft, with the midfielder a chance to attract a rival bid later in the order.

Brown, who is the son of 146-game former Demons utility Nathan, produced a consistent season across all levels of football this year.
He served as a co-captain of the Oakleigh Chargers in the Coates Talent League and won Vic Metro’s best-and-fairest award after an eye-catching under-18 national championships campaign.

The left-footer also performed well at the Victorian state draft combine last month, placing third in the 2km time trial as he stopped the clock at 6min 12sec.

Clubs had until Tuesday to lodge father-son and Academy bidding nominations.

Brown joins Jordan Croft (Western Bulldogs), Will McCabe (Hawthorn) and Calsher Dear (Hawthorn) among the father-son prospects in this year’s draft.

Didn't realise Kynan was such a strong runner. Good for the list to bring in a young guy with leadership credentials, good runner and very professional.

I remember Clarry saying early days having Billy Stretch helped him heaps - one preseason they said just do everything he does.

Speaking of which, maybe we need Billy Stretch back at the club

I’m actually starting to like the sounds of both James Leake and Arie Schoenmaker sounds like both can play in multiple positions.

Kynan Brown moves exactly like his father.

Even has the same small shoulders.

Looks like he might be slightly faster than his Dad which won’t hurt.

I think he's kicking is better than his Dad's, he's also more capable of playing in the middle

If on draft night Daniel Curtin sides to number 7 and we are on the clock. West Coast call and offer a future first for pick 7 and a few other pick swaps do we make that trade?

No, no guarantees what next year brings or even if there is a player as good as Curtin in the top 3. I have Curtin as a top 3-5 talent in this year's draft. Would need to be more than just a future first.

No. We need young talent now. Another 12 months waiting to potentially get another kid who might or might not be as good? Pass. 2 picks in top 11 along with Kynan and we take that.
