PIES WILL CONTINUE TO PAY GRUNDY SALARY

Collingwood has no intention of trying to wriggle out of any contract obligations to Brodie Grundy despite him moving onto a third club in the coming trade period.

Despite trade speculation the Pies might ask the AFL if they still had a responsibility to pay Grundy $250,000 a season for four more years, Collingwood is aware of its commitment.

They signed a heads of agreement with Grundy rather than the Demons to pay a portion of his contract, with Melbourne paying the extra $650,000 plus.

It means while Melbourne will remove his salary on a deal through to 2027 the Pies will hold up their end of the bargain.

Can't wait for Eds head to explode when we beat them in the GF next year stopping them from going back to back.

Inside mid moneyball players:
Lyon
Robertson
Dow
Reef Mcinnes
Finlay Macrae
Brodie
Constable
William Drew

Lyons is the obvious one to me, given he is the only player on the list who is proven and could easily step straight into our team next year.

Plus you'd think he would not cost a lot in contract or trade.

He is over 30, but we need help next year - not in 2 or 3 years time. So whether or not he can play a role next year is all that really matters.

Would def not want him taking any of Gus Sheldrick's minutes in the team.
But as a back up in case he gets injured, then yes...

None are more than list fillers at best. Lyons maybe but then again is Clarke any worse? The rest aren’t worth it.
