2,051 for a rank of around 11,400

Miracle recovery given Xerri’s 26 and then a dumb last-minute impulsive decision to make Dunks captain.

Sicily, Young, Green all outstanding today and a bunch of rooks can really hold their head high over the weekend.

We're almost a mirror image.

2050 for a rank of 11,995.

Also copped Xerri. Then Kelly.

Exactly 2000 which I’ll take given Stewart’s injury and a couple 50/50 calls not going my way.

Poor from Marshall but everyone has him. Happy I switched from Dunk to Bray as C which somewhat saved me.

Laird will be juicy for the picking in a few weeks. Asked for a 70 from him and got less so was cheering! Was at the game, he could not have been more disinterested and lazy.

For something absolutely extraordinary, my side scored 2,051 as I said above.

Mrs Zevon’s team (very few of the same players) scored…… 2,051.

Wtf are the chances…

Hilarious to calculate that even with Marshall and Laird's sh*tness, I still would have been on track for 2100 had I not touched my team after Friday night.

Lost 37 points from C on Dunks
Lost 76 points from bringing Xerri in over Darcy
Lost 34 points from bringing in McDonald (who was fine), over Callaghan, which made me field Wilmot for 49 instead of Callaghan's 83

If rolling lockout remains after this year, I'm going to play as if I am locked out and not change a thing. I nearly changed Tom Green too - so I would have just made things that much worse.

All in all I ended up with 1946 all out, which would have been a guaranteed 2094. Had I gone someone else over Laird, like Andy Bray who I had early on, that would have been 2150+.

It's that easy to have a good team/versus having a sh*t team, kids. Now I sit 30,000+ ranked instead of inside the Top 1000, which I would have had I not touched things over the PS/after I'd settled on my team.

Lesson is - do not worry about PS, go with your gut, and only change players if there's a role change/injury. Once you have settled on a team, LEAVE IT. There are a million different ways it could be good or bad, but more often than not, your months of research will trump your split decisions made on a whim.

Gonna be fun fighting back from here, but I've done it before, so I'm gonna consider it a challenge from here :)

Bring on trades!

Someone was in my front yard picking figs off the neighbours tree. Little did they know I’m a Laird captain owner 😤

Feel better now
I did a job this week at a house ( Far East hills Perth) ..and they had the most glorious 3 fig trees you’d ever seen. Pruned to 5 ft each and a canopy that covered 100 sqrs mtrs on frontage between them all next to each other.

Beautiful trees they are.

**** you Laird !

FWIW my 2,006 has me at 21,495. 10k spots for 45 points.

Anyone have an idea how much Laird will lose?

2046 all out. Starting rank of 12,685. Very happy with that start considering it would have to be a 100+ point gain compared to my start last year from memory. Started the morning at just over 1100 so good return, especially considering what happened with Jones.

Shrek, Captain Bray , Green and Sic were the difference. Avoided the Laird disaster and was able to get a significant gain.

Callaghan solid, Ash ok, had no Worpel, Day or Mackenzie.

2150...my best rd 1 in history

Xerri was thankfully E as the plan was to loop Doch VC. So that allowed me to downgrade a premo (Oliver) and get in Witts

Jelly concussed hurt as he was on track for 110 I reckon and is now a forced trade

Only shockers were Chesser on field and Hunt.

Marshall and Dunks also trash but everyone has them

Thankfully I have Chandler so I just have to be creative and turn Jelly + Hunt/Xerri into best available

Great post. Some of my better performers this weekend were players that I changed back to at the last minute who I’d had all pre season but had traded out after the practice games. Green, Young the main two.

The practice games are mostly a dead set poisoned chalice.

2077 which is 7,687th.

Will take that after the Stewart disaster Friday night. Most of my mid pricers looked good and had roles save for Milera. Have most of the needed rooks save for Chandler.

Just need to decide whether to trade Stewart up to Doc, Milera down to Chandler. Or go Stewart down to Day/Cox, Milera down to Chandler with the plan to upgrade Serong to Bray the following week.

1950 and what a shithouse performance by me. Worst start ever to fantasy. Ranking 30000+. Argg now what do i do with the rest of the year.
