IMO ....Rachelle back to CBA's this week against SAINTS at home

Same as me .....except Setterfield out, instead of Ashcroft ......big on Ashcroft this week, at home against ESS
Spotted - form is best at the Gabbatoir!

Yep, similar thinking to me. Worst case I suspect Drury will still be an option next week much like Angwin and Seamus Mitchell were.

I can go Pedlar -> Atkins & Worpel -> Mills, just. Might be a touch early on Pedlar, and I love him as a player, but it's not a high scoring role and I've felt like he's 'overscored' nearly every week in that role/with his tank.

Only thing there is that if I do that, I've got to field two of Cincotta, Atkins & Chandler this week, which probably ends up being the first two, and if I'm benching Chandler, I might as well trade him? I just reckon he's got a solid one in him at the G vs the Hawks this week.

The Drury over Atkins option would be one of
  • Uwland -> Drury, Worpel -> Mills
  • JVR -> Drury, Worpel -> Brayshaw (or Ashcroft -> Mills)
  • Pedlar -> Drury, Chandler -> Mills (or Ashcroft/Pickett -> Brayshaw)
  • Wilmot -> Drury, Pickett -> Mills

The third one is probably the most 'conventionally wise' of the bunch, but I think it's early to go on Chandler given his opponent and record at the MCG this year.

Edit: there is a completely munted part of me saying I should go completely bonkers and do Uwland -> Drury and one of JVR/Wilmot/Cowan -> Atkins and just wait a week on Mills given his breakeven - the logic that way is that I'm not going to end up in a worse position than I started bench wise given it's 2x dead rooks going, and means every trade for the next few weeks could draw down on blokes like Chandler/Pedlar/Pickett/Worpel/Ashcroft and I'd have no shortage of cash to get to the right targets if they arise)

I think if if i was in your position, I would grab Atkins and Mills. However if you decide you're comfortable in missing Atkins and given you only need to field 2 of those guys, I would get Brayshaw. Purely for his lower BE this week over Mills.

In a similar predicament to you, except I'll be fielding all three of Atkins, Cincotta and Chandler. Have decided to hold Worpel and go Jones > Drury and Setterfield > Brayshaw. Then as you said pretty easy to turn Worpel into Mills next week. Worst case scenario he goes 150 and goes up $40k. He's still underpriced and has sold us all with the big score.

watching the game on the weekend when fyfe came in, brayshaw did start forward for some CBA but after the initial contest, fyfe would then shift to the HHF and brayshaw would come to the contest. wouldnt be too worried either way as brayshaw does most of his work outside the contest anyway
Bringing in Brayshaw this week....

So am I. Unfortunately its him or Worpel and I'd rather Worpel in my side if we get some injury chaos this week.

Ashcroft is still a rookie so I can only expect his performances trend downwards till the byes when he gets a rest.

But I'm sure teams on Thursday throw all this good work and trade plans into the bin as per usual.

Tom Green or Andy Brayshaw? Going from Setterfield

I think I'd rather do Green this week and get Brayshaw in either next week or the following from Worpel.

I can't keep watching Green dominate every week without having him.

Thoughts?
Green. Better and still cheaper than Oliver :thumbsu:

Yeah, good feedback. I'm torn on the two. Mills feels lower risk, but is gettable next week. If Brayshaw goes off, he probably isn't. But I'm not completely sold on Brayshaw being 'back' - especially with the niggles, forward talk, small sample size of dominance and two tough matches to come.

But I'm also cognisant of probably not wanting both as I've already got Sinclair, Marshall, Gulden, Dunkley & one of these guys as week 1 bye keepers (+ maybe Ashcroft/Wilmot), so if I go to 6 with them both, it's probably one too many. I reckon if I let Brayshaw slip, by the time he's out of his bye he might still be 940k-ish as that 150 odd would have nearly left his price.

In line with your advice, a potential option to get both Brayshaw and Atkins, would be the following, (but would leave me fielding all 3 of Chandler, Atkins and Cincotta, but with cash on Wilmot & Pedlar's heads could upgrade Chandler next week and whichever of Ashcroft/Pickett stays the following week)

Pickett/Ashcroft -> Atkins, Worpel -> Brayshaw. I guess the question is is losing Pickett/Ashcroft ahead of Pedlar/Chandler worth getting Brayshaw over Mills.

Have to trade But which one ?
Chandler BE 57 Av 68 - v Hawks
Pedlar. BE 48 Av 61. - v Saints

TBH I’d be happy with a BE
About the only way I can split them is Pedlar so far has a ceiling of 75 and an average of 61: whereas
Chandler has a ceiling of 106 and average of 67

Is Gawn a play? And do we think he is likely to get forward status?

I’m in the unenviable position of owning ladhams and not owning English. English is basically impossible to move up to so I’ll need to do it during the byes when I can double downgrade. Gawn is at a juicy price and if he does get forward status it makes getting English a lot easier

Gawn is great value with his scoring pedigree. Definitely keen on him if he gets FWD status.

Thoughts on Stewart vs Macpherson?

I'm not bitter about Prestia - not sure that's what you are looking for though:think:

Interestingly Gawn has a BE of 93, and the best a ruck has scored against Hawks combo of Meek AND Reeves is a 99 by English. Reeves on his own did a couple of nice scores, but still no oppo (Darcy, Draper/Phillips, Goldy, Ladhams, Stanley/Blic, Flynn, ROB,) went 90's plus other than English. I think Gawn monsters Meek, but Reeves is a different one again. Could wait a week maybe.

Brayshaw is a real interesting one. Big "I'm back" game last week with 157. Albeit in an easy win against the hawks at home. BE now at 80.

Avg was 102 Rd1-7, now jumped to 109

But his run is Sydney (away), Geelong (home), Melbourne (away). And then he has the round 12 bye. It's really tempting to bring him in at his discounted price but I just can't

Kudos to those with the stones to bring him in this week if he goes big again. I'm gonna keep pencilling him in as a trade in Rd 13

kozi ....further to our discussion today around holding or trading Newcombe

The one area highlighted, is Newcombe is handballing more than B4, when he was predominantly kicking .....however his influence is increasing

A watch on Max Holmes this week .....Dangerfield #1 inside 50 player in the AFL .....#1 score assist player in the AFL

Who takes his place, now Danger is injured ? .....Holmes, watching his CBA's this week

Yeah he's a bloody gun when played on ball the whole game. Problem is that only happened in rounds 5 & 6 when Day missed.. here's the full story re CBA's

R3: 52%
R4: 50%
Day suspended
R5: 88%
R6: 88%
Day back
R7: 59%
Given the R3 / R4 CBA's ....which he bounced back from, I still believe it's part player management by the Coach, and just temporary
Given the impact, Champion Data are saying about Newcomb .....you can't see a scenario, whereby he's out of the CBA's too long

I think that has to be the play if you don't have him. 3 tough games til the bye.
I'm short $ getting Laird, so Bray was next option but I'll tidy up my bench and maxed out players for a better bye structure instead.

Giving him another week or 2 but need to see a role improvement from the last 2 games. Wish I could be as optimistic.. seen him jog away from a ball up and go stand 50m away at half forward one too many times

Appreciate the wise words though and hope you're right. Would love to keep him as he's such a great unique with huge upside. Unfortunately the other side of the coin is his low scores sting more as nobody else has him

Decent mention.
We could do with some G.C & Geel players for bye stability. Not many cats players interest me but Holmes is on the up and might be a better shot than multiple Gold Coast players (especially ones that eat grass)
