Hi,

New to the SC world and hoping someone can confirm some trade/loophole info for me.

I'm playing SC Draft and I have a FWD on my bench listed as emergency that I now want to bring on.

Rather than sending another starting FWD to the waivers for an injured player, can I trade with another person in my league for a FWD that has a bye this week, will that still sub on my Emergency FWD once the bye round player is in my team?

Also this one is probably very obvious but just wanted to confirm, if I have two FWDs listed as emergency, and I have two non-starters on field, do I get both those emergency FWDs on the field at the end of the round, or are you only allowed one emergency per round/position?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
Scan thru the game tips thread .....most answers lie in there

Answer to you last paragraph .....yes, if you have 2 non-playing on-field players .....both (E) will come into play
If you have 1 on-field non-player, and 2 bench players with the (E) ....you get the lowest scoring bench player

Looks like the moving house bug has reached Thailand, as we've just accepted an offer for our joint and we need to move in the next few days.......have no idea when I'll have internet connection again so made my Rd16 trades early and hope they all play...
It's been a bugger .....no NBN, no internet, no TV working serial cable .....so it's been a complete TV blackout

3 days after the move, order has been restored

I wish you well, it's a messy time .....first time too, the removalists have damaged an array of items .....and that's after 6 previous moves

So the run of Thursday night games has now ended.

From a SC perspective I like Thursday games as it's less of a wait between rounds.

From a casual supporter perspective I like Thursday night games - something to watch on a Thursday evening. Much prefer these to Monday night games

Helps the week go by quicker in my opinion too.

Hard to explain, but ill give it a crack.

Thursday Night Footy gives off Friday vibes, which helps get through the Thursday.

Then the real Friday comes along and it becomes a bit of a novelty, because you went through most of the weekend anticipation emotions the day before.

By the time you get sick of going through another Friday, it's almost time to knock off.

I think the sub rule is hurting the wider SC community. Something needs to be implemented, even if it's minor. I haven't given it too much thought, but this is what I came up quickly, that doesn't seem too bad.

Thoughts on the following rule change for next year, to ease the pain of the sub rule?

If your on-field player gets subbed out (or is the starting sub and gets subbed in), then the highest score between that player and your E is taken.

eg.
MJohnson M8 (Ginbey M9 with the E)
Johnson scores 32 and gets subbed off half way through the 3rd
Ginbey scores 72
Ginbey's 72 gets taken instead of Johnson's 32

Or it could be a 23rd, your teams' sub if you will, who can give your scoring a boost if an on-field player is subbed out.

Discuss and propose alternatives. I think if nothing is done, we'll keep losing players.

Making changes to the price change mechanism seems like it'll be too hard to implement (eg. not counting or scaling sub scores for price changes)

I think AFL Fantasy has taken a great step forward with two trades a week. Something SC needs to get on board with. The amount of players that would be dropping off between R16-20 would be immense.

My main thing I want to see is not having to use magic trades for DPP, along with not having to loop players with dead rookies for VC scores. We should just be given the option to either take our VC score and move DPP freely.

Regarding the sub rule, like with Sportsbet, if your player goes off injured in the first half, your whole bet is voided. Money back! I think if your player goes off before half time, or comes on after half time, there should be something to allow you the choice of taking the score or rolling the dice.

Strong disagree on this. SC has always been the more strategic game, rather than just trading every week, every week, every week. Making it MORE like Fantasy will lose numbers quicker than maintaining the status quo.

They probably need to accommodate the sub rule somehow, but not with more trades.

IMO playing styles need to change a bit, moving forward cover becomes more important (especially if there was a change to make your emergency scores more likely to be used). Next season coaches might be slower to trade out their better rookies/sideways underperforming premo's to ensure they have more numbers playing each week. Rather than boost boost boost until full premo in round 12. It may make teams less similar, which is always a good thing.

best 18 every week. Allows you to discard your four lowest scores due to carnage/sub/injury/spuddiness
