Certainly seems like Kingsley has gotten a buy in like Cameron was never able to.
You don't think he had buy in from 2016-19.

Players and ex players always speak very highly of Leon..
He created a very tough culture.
He was imperfect, but did a lot right along the way as well.

I’d love a player like Jesse Motlop, just highly skilled and a threat. Interestingly I believe he was a player we considered strongly in his draft year. He just re-signed so is not an option but a guy like him might be a point of difference. Overall I think our list looks terrific.
I think they see Jones as being that style player

Tuggers retirees done for the season and possibly a few in cotton wool nxt week, so Adelaide beat West Coast and we get pick 6 ... how we gonna spend that bad boy?
Wisely I hope. Don't get involved in a mega trade where we give up more than is fair.
We also where prepared to give up 19 for Jaeger OMeara, thank goodness he preferred Fremantle.

Simple question, complex answer. As I've said before, I do think we need more midfield options (particularly in the contest). However, there are not a lot of good options where our picks are looking to end up. Still plenty to shake out across the league in respect of ladder positions, too.
Hopefully North don't get a priority pick now. If we get picks 6,12 then they are pretty good.
Maybe we should trade 12 to Richmond for 2024r1.

By throwing in pick 18 (time to dream) and maybe something else to grab either Mckercher (ideally) or Dursma

If we could lure an established young mid I'd be happy to depart with our own first rounder this year, but the issue is getting that interest from a player in the first place. It'd be a long shot but I wonder if a move to a less AFL focused state with more marketing opportunities outside footy would appeal to a Bailey Smith, gets us another strong midfielder in the contest. Again, I know it's unlikely but that's the sort of move we should be exploring.

Otherwise, knowing Caruso doesn't mind taking a risk, I wouldn't be shocked to see us try and aggressively target a pick 3 from Hawthorn in an effort to land Watson/ Duurs/ McKercher, dependant on North compo. Obviously a lot to play out but I still like the appeal of an O'Sullivan and Wilson combo, Wilson as a high workrate winger/ half forward and O'Sullivan as a KPP with form at either end

Or trade a pick into 2024

O’Sullivan seems a good pick and I thought about trading into next year if there’s no one we really desire

I think we can get Gold Coasts pick 4. But if West Coast, Hawthorn, Gold Coast do a 3 way seal we won't be able to get it

If trading one of our first rounders for a future 1st rounder you need to project which team is likely to crash, that is most likely Geelong or possibly Western Bulldogs if they don’t sack their coach early enough in 2024.

Richmond will also fall off the cliff and West Coast will be bad again. I think they are the most vulnerable teams in 2024.

This is my idea for getting pick 4 ( if Gold coast want an extra player that is not an academy player, and can't get their hands on pick 2 or 3).
We trade 4,2024r2 for 6,13 ( for winning a final, go out next week).
That is about 350 extra points to gold coast.
We do this in 2 trades though.
We trade first of all in trade week
4 for 13, 2024r3,2024r4.
Points wise, a legitimate trade.
Then, on draft night, instead of using pick 6, we live trade it to gold coast for their 2024r2,r3,r4.
Again, a legitimate trade points wise.

Maybe but if AFL suspect it’s not legit in terms of the look of the trade they can block it and then we would be rooted! They haven’t liked some of Sydney’s trade antics in the past.

I dont think Gold Coast will want to bring in any more than the 3 academy kids. They will look to trade in 2024. They'll have to upgrade too many first rounders on potential at one time in 2025.

If we want 4. I think we could trade our 2024 first and something else pretty decent, might involve a third side and one of this years first rounders. We could than trade one of this picks into next year if need be. so we still have 2 this year and one next year.
