He can clearly play

Even as the sub he brought energy and goal smarts

He loves the big stage …. I suppose it comes down to what does he want more? Anonymity during the week or a big crowd on a Saturday?
Maybe he can sign, but only if he wins an arm wrestle with Kingers...

Or passes some kind of good vibes challenge/bootcamp.

I wouldn't profess to be nearly as good but so far I would guess:

1- NM Reid
2- WC Mckercher
3- WC Curtain
4- WB Watson
5- Hawks Duursma
6- Melb Sanders/Caddy/ O'sullivan ???
7- GWS Sanders/Caddy/ O'sullivan/Wilson ????

I have left out Read and walter to try keep it simpler visually.

If it fell that way then we likely walk with sanders. I wouldn't be opposed to wilson either as he has high quality attributes that could help us too.

What do you think?

Yeah that looks about right to me. I'm taking Sanders or Caddy there (in that order).
Sanders only knock would be that I'm still worried about the Tassie thing. Caddy, we probably have enough emerging forwards but if we train him up as an oversized mid I don't the it. His leading patterns look really strong in the highlights

Hawks pick before Bulldogs; but I have it likely the same outcome, with the Demons & Giants having the same options at their picks.

Given their goal-scoring woes, Demons should take Caddy, but the other 2 are clear options and could go any of them really.

I'd have Sanders and O'Sullivan as our clear choices ahead of Caddy, especially if we go get EH (or even Lobb).

Geez Sanders is nicely built already …. He’d be getting games next year you’d think

Sanders has been living away from Tassie for about 24 months now, of all the Tassie guys he's the least likely to suffer any go home urges, but in general I don't think any of the tassie guys are super keen on the idea of going back in their early 20s, most are keen to get out ASAP.

From this arvo’s News Corp. Take it for what it’s worth:

“The Eagles have settled on Reid as their clear top target and were left impressed by his interview at the draft combine last week, with some likening his presence to Hawthorn champion Luke Hodge.

North Melbourne received pick 3 as free agency compensation for the departure of full-back Ben McKay to Essendon on Tuesday, giving the Roos a huge arsenal of draft picks, including 2, 3, 15 and 21 to strike a deal with West Coast.

But any hopes the Roos had of securing pick 1 have taken a hit as the Eagles look unlikely to cough it up unless North hands over picks 2 and 3 in return, setting a high bar for one of the biggest trades of the post-season.

That asking price could be too steep for the Kangaroos, who are believed to be looking at line-breaking left-footer Colby McKercher at pick 2 and dangerous goalkicking midfielder Zane Duursma at pick 3, according to recruiters.

It means Hawthorn could snare speedy small forward Nick Watson at pick 4, the Western Bulldogs snap up jet midfielder Ryley Sanders at pick 5, and Melbourne could look at forward Nate Caddy or key defender Daniel Curtin at pick 6.

There is a belief Western Australian Curtin could be sliding down clubs’ draft orders, meaning the Giants face the prospect of landing Curtin if he falls as far as pick 7.....

Recruiting sources on Tuesday said it seemed likely West Coast would keep pick 1 rather than trade it out, unless North parted with picks 2 and 3 in one of the biggest pick swaps in AFL trade history......

The Eagles want to take Reid in the belief he is a generational talent and someone they could not pass up after two years down the bottom of the ladder.

Reid told the Eagles he would have no problems moving interstate to play AFL.

North Melbourne already has a stack of first-round players in the engine room including brilliant ballwinners Harry Sheezel, who won a best and fairest in his first year, hard nut George Wardlaw, Luke Davies-Uniacke, pick three Will Phillips, slick prime mover Tarryn Thomas and goal kicker Jaidyn Stephenson.”

True.
One Ryley Sanders please.

Tbh I just assumed wc would move heaven and earth to make sure curtin got there so I have never realistically considered him

My confusion seems to be what he is? Is he a tall defender? A midfielder? A forward? Sounds very Tomlinson

A lot can obviously change in the coming weeks but at this stage it looks like it might be a choice between Curtain or O'Sullivan.

I keep seeing Curtin touted as a half-back / tall defender, if we pick him up would we try to move him to midfield or wing? We just recently moved Fleeton on for what I'm assuming is an inability to slot him into our backline

He looks very composed with ball in hand and has good vision/kicking skills for a key position height player. His 20m massage kick in between defence and into forward 50 is low and directed. Rare in a player with the height of a key position player. Appears technically a much more assured kick compared to Taylor or Buckley. His smooth movement, height, vision and stoppage work make it a tempting comparison to the Bont, though his acceleration feels less Callaghan and more Tomlinson-esque (at least from a quick look at his highlight reel).

His vision and kicking alone lead me to believe he would be a better player than Tommo.

However, to me his biggest strength is his positioning and intercept marking. I would look to develop him in defence especially at the start of his career. If he settles well and we need a bigger body in the middle, wouldn't be opposed to testing him out there after.

Would undoubtedly be the pick if he falls to us.

Phil and Josh Jenkins did a GWS list review on trade radio and Phil basically said near the end he thinks we'll target a midfielder in the draft, said a couple times that depth behind the first 4 is probably something that needs to be looked at. Guess by that logic Sanders would be the top target.

And if sanders is gone? Wilson?

Yeah really like Wilson as a backup option, genuine goal kicking ability, tested really well at the combine the other day, best running vertical leap of anyone that tested, top 10 standing vertical leap and agility test and then also second best for 2km, think there's also plenty of examples of him using realy good touch on his kicks choosing to chip it in at times to allow the lead to run right into space to mark it.

What’s his first name?
