Was about to edit my post to say that - I still think their bowlers are that bit better than ours. But that could backfire if the Aussies bat first with guys like Warner, Marsh, Head, and Maxwell. We could put up 330+ and I don't care how good you are, it's rare that totals that big get chased down.
It is, I actually think the Aussies will win if it's a good batting pitch and they bat first, the damage Warner and Head do as openers is insane. If playing the games earlier is the answer to this problem then that's what they should do next time, but it looks like they won't.Was about to edit my post to say that - I still think their bowlers are that bit better than ours.
It does expose how much of an advantage the toss is, which is a shame really.
I've loved the daily format of games. Basically filled the void over the past month and a half. This has upset Aussie win written all over it.
On another note, I liked the format of this WC, 10 teams all playing each other once.
Pity they’re changing it.
It's surprising how many don't get this about sport. As for selection, I think you need to pick a side assuming most players will but in a performance that is in their upper-quartile, because that is what it will take to win.
So for example, whilst Starc has the potential to go for 15-25 more than he should, he can also be a match-winner, especially early on.
Likewise players like Zampa, Smith, etc.
Would have been perfect if they all finished at midnightI've loved the daily format of games. Basically filled the void over the past month and a half.
Australia is the least team id want to face if i were india
Really?
Of course the flat-cranium population will think this is borne out of some inherent anti Australian agenda but I assure you it isn’t.
I think the most guaranteed way that India would get a competitive match in the semis and finals, is against Australia and NZ, headed by Australia. They’re the most dependably good ‘other’ team in the comp.
The most likely team to actually beat India, is SA winning the toss and batting imo because they have the most tools that can actually blow a game apart with the most regularity at the same time.
Who's on pitch shenanigans watch?
All start at midnight ACDT

are we on coin shenanigans watch too?
You could sense that last night with the way the crowd reactedYou are replying to someone who said Australia is the team India would least want to face. It doesn't matter whether South Africa is a better chance or not. For Indians, Australia is the only team they would be worried about.
And I say that firstly based on the 3 Indian people I work with, who were not happy yesterday as South Africa were collapsing. They did not want to play Australia in the final and were genuinely worried. Mentioned the test championship.
Secondly, I've been to Mumbai for work and talked cricket with the locals. Even if India are now the best, the aura of Australia remains. They couldn't give two shits about South Africa.
The Indian team itself seems pretty switched on. Hard to see them crumbling. But if we get a couple of early wickets or Warner/Head smash the powerplay ...
Aus batters have failed against Afghanistan & South Africa, relying on a maxwell miracle & the tail enders to bat aus to a win. They're coming up against the most formidable bowling line up in the comp with 4-5 genuine wicket takers. Goodluck.
What that tells me is that we don't have to be perfect to win games.Aus were rolled for under 200 against India earlier in the tournament while India chased it down pretty comfortably. It will have a psychological impact on the team. Aus batters under pressure knowing early wickets exposes their slower batters in smith & labs with their hope placed on the lower order once again. Smith & Labs (if both selected) are under pressure to score at a faster rate knowing the mammoth totals India has scored.
While Aus have won 8 in a row, they haven't put in a complete performance against a reputable side. Through a combination of injuries, form & calibre of players. It's unlikely to change based on recent matches. Good luck to Australia but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose by 50+ runs or 5+ wickets.
Yeah, but there will be a subclause that only India has a right to a rematch. The BCCI will introduce a rematch clause the team that finished top of the group stages.
Butter Chicken night for Rohit ..sat night..thats whyWhy isn’t the final of a WC not on a Saturday ffs.
Shami is having a ridiculous tournament. Pick of the bowlers across the all sides for mine. Was about to edit my post to say that - I still think their bowlers are that bit better than ours.
