2023 Membership Talk

Says I’m “impacted”.

Will be receiving a call from the club in the coming days to discuss away seating options for 2024 and beyond.

Unfortunately, it was inevitable that some members would be left disappointed.
Yep, but the way they’ve done it is all away reserved seat holders will be disappointed. Having to pre-book for tugger and hawk away games, yuck. Potentially being bumped out of existing seats to accommodate others put out makes little sense. Way to make non-level 2 people feel second class, by ranking them a lower priority despite paying the same amount.

Do you only have a home seat? If not, sounds like everyone will be reallocated with priority given to level 2 members.

Not sure why those not in level 2 are being forced to change. Also it defeats the purpose of a reserved seat if you need to prebook for away games against the tuggers and hawks,
I’m also affected but to be fair it does make sense that the longer serving members in level 2 should get a better seat on level 4 than I do rather than pushing right to the worst spots. Not much more that could’ve been done really.

Certainly some level 2 members have held them for years, but I’m sure others haven’t. Plus there will be natural attrition meaning some alternative seats won’t be the worst.

Should have been just years of membership and no need to pre-book for a couple of away games.

Not entirely sure what the purpose of paying for a reserved seat is if this is their “solution” as someone who sits on level 1 away I may as well just move to bay seating for a cheaper price

Although I know the greed will kick in and if I choose that option I’m sure I’ll lose my reserved home seat too which is actually the only seat I care about

What will happen to the away seats that aren’t pre-booked against the tuggers & hawks? Suspect they’ll go to general sale meaning a mix of fans against the Collingwood members.

Same... I guess only 5 away games at the MCG, so probably not too bad (unless all 5 away games are against Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton, Essendon & Melbourne).

Having a set of reserved seats for Anzac Day, Kings Birthday and Carlton is a good outcome. I'm interested to see the price of memberships. Will they bring everyone's membership price down or just increase the cost for those staying in the Ponsford Level 2. I'd be happy to nominate myself to give up my away Level 2 seat if there is an appropriate discount.

Out of the 2000 I suspect I'll be near the end of the list though. Have only had my current away seat since 2020.

Who else would we play away games against other than Geelong?

I’ve had my away seat since 2000. Looking forward to my phone call.

Can't make everyone happy Sadly

Yeah I hated that Part - Why change Seasts for Reserved Seat Members?

There are Mix Fans and Oppostion Fans where I have my Reserved Seats

I’ve paid premium rate for my legends seat on level 2 since it’s inception 20+ years ago.

Sorry guys, but no ****ing way are you seeing me sit on level 4.

Eddie did the deal for life.
I bought in on that basis.
I seriously doubt that Brown went 10/10ths, and that his happy compromise happens to screw me and my mates over.

Bet ya Browny and the board don’t end up sitting on level 4.

Why dont they push for 11 home games at the G?

Why not have an 11 home 3 away split at the G

And then a 0 home, 3 away at Marvel/Cat Park....or even give us an extra away game up in Sydney or QLD to help promote the game.

Give battling clubs like North, Dogs and Saints more chance to make some $$ out of us, send us down the highway to Geelong once stadium is built, or use us to develop the game up in Northern states....instead of giving Hawthorn, Richmond and Carlton extra $$.

That would be better for the Pies and the game.

I agree. Let’s get rid of the Marvel home games!
