As we come in here to complain, I have to report a wonderful experience with the Roo Shop this week.

I was given a season 7 AFLW indigenous jumper, which I loved, but the size was wrong. It was bought in the Arden St store, on special, last December. After several months of trying to convince myself it would be fine, I finally gave up and the shop said they would give me a credit if I returned it with the tags on.

So I took myself into Arden St on Monday to see what I might like to get instead, still sorry not to have the jumper I really wanted, and the lovely staff said I could have a credit but first they a) checked the racks again for my size (no luck), b) checked stores out the back (no luck again), then c) searched the online store for me, found what I needed, offered me that with no fuss or effort from me, and placed the order for it to be mailed out to me. It arrived yesterday and is perfect.

I was expecting either to be told I’d left it too long, or to be told there was no crossover between the main shop and the online store, and at best to walk out with a credit or a second preference item.

Could not be more delighted - big shoutout to the staff who helped me, and to the club for the flexible policies that enabled them to do it.

I only come here for the tally updates. I never have issues with membership as only get to 1-2 matches a season, but I hope members of other clubs have as much drama as us….because gee, we bitch and moan a lot

As close as we are to 50k, I almost feel a bit embarrassed at how bare our crowds are at some games. I don't think there's any doubt that we're the smallest Vic club now.

It will turn when we start to win . We do have a hardcore staunch core supporter base. I remember i think in 2012 when we won 9 or so straight to play finals we had 29,000 to a north freo game .

Last time I checked there was no cutoff date to buy a membership, but the AFL has a cutoff date after which it won’t be counted in the official numbers - that used to be end of June.

There was a two for one deal running this week, "Give your mate a Hi-5" get access for you and a mate for the last five remaining home games.
Might see a little boost in numbers.

100% correct , I was there . It was when we had just started to show a bit … played finals a couple of weeks later against WC in Perth and were absolutely smacked . Which coincided with the end of the triple towers .

Unlike the Dogs though we haven't been winning or even been genuine premiership contenders for many years. They won it in 2016 and made another GF just 2 years ago, and they can only muster 1 or 2k more members than us despite us winning 10 games in 4 years. When we are up and about again contending I would expect us to blitz past them.

Yes true on these facts but the Western Scumdogs and kilda have that we will never have they live under the umbrella of protection and the media and are protected.
Tell what have these 2 clubs have done to promote this sport.
Did they promote Friday night football no but we did.
Did they play interstate home games 1st no but we did.
The only way we will get RESPECT is for our supporters to stand up become members and attend games starting tomorrow we should try and out number the Scumbag supporters and should be aiming for a crowd of 40+k

Went to Hobart for the GWS game with my grand son. The crowd was so small that we ended up in the front row of the cheer squad with me, age 76, having a flogger. Had a great time except for the result.

There would have been a much bigger jump if the form of the first couple of games had been maintained to burnish the Clarko aura - and the way it’s gone since then, yay us for not dropping membership numbers.
