There's a few mids that I really wanna start so hope I'm able get away with a shallow backline.

Will start Bont & Macrae, with Dunkley gone and Lobb coming in I think we see these 2 in the middle more often than not.

Love Jack Steele and he's a bit unders due to that shoulder.

Willing to pay up for Oliver as a very safe C option.

And after seeing the Bombers starting fixture I am very keen to start Parish.

I can see him going up to 95 average. Tigers don't play a high possession game style. He won't end up a keeper. But if we get 35 trades he doesn't need to I suppose.

Yeah, looks like a good mid-pricer. Worth noting I think that he hasn't played a full season yet. Still should get to $500k. As always with these types it's choosing the right time to trade him out. Richmond have the last bye.

its these types of picks i think need to be sorted first. whether you grab macrae or bont wont really make a difference.. but whether you grab sheed or hopper might make a huge difference.

trying to dodge the will brodie bullet where i almost missed out on his price rises. i didnt have him all preseason. barely even considered him. but after a few rounds everyone had him.

I find the first 4-5 rounds teams are too similar and it’s important to nail your VC or C to keep rank up there.
Laird safest bet for VC/C in the early rounds.
Oliver because he can go large.
Macrae and Steele due to value.
Hopper great stepping stone until the byes.
Rookies for the rest.

well, that’s version 1 for now.

Geelong champion Patrick Dangerfield believes young teammate Max Holmes could be “the best player in the competition” one day.

The 2016 Brownlow Medallist compared Holmes to a young Chris Judd.

Holmes played 18 games in 2022 after being selected with pick 20 in the 2020 National Draft.

In an excerpt from the book The Greatest Team of All, the story of Geelong’s premiership season, published in The Adelaide Advertiser, Dangerfield spoke glowingly of his young teammate.

“There are (Chris) Judd-like traits,” Dangerfield said in the book.

“He has phenomenal endurance but also electric speed – it’s a rare combination.

“He hadn’t played all that much footy during his junior days and I think he’s just starting to find out how good he can be.

“We haven’t played him that much as an inside mid yet, but he can be a good stoppage player as well.

“I believe he could be the best player in the competition at some stage, he truly could be.”

Wish the campaigner had have kept forward status for this year

at 450k surely this pick needs to be considered more.

if he was a forward, would everyone have him in their team?
No !

Since 2017 the 33 YO next season has been dropping in averages .... he was one of the most resilient players, now he's consistently missing games

Crash Bang players like Dangerfield, fall off a cliff quickly .....TBH, I'm surprised he's lasted this long
