I disagree. I think he absolutely could have gone lower, and although we don't like it a split second decision is still a decision
He could have gone lower. He could've done a backflip, he could've done a handstand, he could've done the ****ing heil hitler salute. Why would he have gone lower? Why would that have even made a difference? The only thing he could possibly have achieved by going lower would be a massive injury to himself. Are you not allowed to run with a bouncing ball and grab it when it bounces up?

So they’re asking for Louge to position his head lower to the players centre of mass?

Is that correct?

You *ign morons
Yeah they wanted log to put his head lower to get concussed
The AFL is clearly becoming a 'tv game', where a 'bad look' trumps on-field reality.
Till it’s one of their favs

Can bookmark it that the exact same thing will happen and no case to answer

I think people have to realise that, due to a billion dollar lawsuit and evidence tgat people are severely suffering later in life due to concussion, choosing to bump is no longer a 'football act'

The fact is that Logue could have gone lower, but he chose to ignore the ball and bump. This is going to be a suspension every time in the current environment
sad hugh dancy GIF

‘What we would like to see is Griffin Louge further lowering himself and ultimately being put in a wheelchair for the rest of his life….verdict held’
Surely someone has to pick this up in the wider media. It actually makes no sense whatsoever

but thats not what he did? ultimately, he made a decision to ignore the ball and bump Day, regardless of whether it was a split second decision or not

I also strongly disagree with this contention that going lower leaves him open to injury. Players are taught very early on to go low and turn the body to the side, something he absolutely could have done -- for clarity, that's what I meant by 'go lower'. Instead, he stayed upright and chose to bump

You go lower and choose to bump if you're looking at the other guy going for the ball along with you and getting ready for the impact well in advance. That's not what happened here. Logue was running with a loose ball trying to mop it up and another player ran into him with very poor technique and no positioning to protect himself. He wasn't expecting it until the very last moment, at which point he was already upright.

fwiw Liam Boy im not saying whether it's right or wrong, i just don't think this is anywhere near as egregious a decision as many people here are making out. there's no fix or corruption or any of that pathetic nonsense. I can understand why they came to the decision they did under the current guidelines, and especially in the current environment around head knocks.
