If we got him at our first would Zakostelsky be there at our 2nd pick you rkn? We need a gun inside mid and tall defender with our first two picks.

I see him getting picked around that mark, so yes. That’s what I’m secretly hoping. As others have mentioned, ZZ looks like a Hine type.

this is strictly off the video highlights I have seen

My only query about him is his disposal, looked very average from the available footage of his highlights. Loves the flick out handpass to no one in particular and his kicking looks very iffy.
No doubting his athleticism though

His draft profile looks very good... Undersized ruck (and more recently CHB) at 196cm but 17 and still growing. Very very quick for his size, great vertical leap, endurance, clearance player and very good beliw his knees - but the knock on him, as you have identified is his ball use. From reports they believe it should be irobed out with him being in a professional/ fulltime setting

decision making with his hand passing, action with his kicking.

could see him as a key back, good pace for his size. didnt see much of his marking ability above his head in the highlights though, any idea how good he is when the ball is in the air. games are based on intercepting these days

Late convert to football. Huge basketball background. Although significantly undersized in the ruck his huge vertical leap helped him beat bigger opponents. Reportedly only recently trialled at HB to v. good effect. Good intercept mark and a long kick. Reporting a HUGE upside in the right environment

I've got a feeling we may go tall this draft with 2 or 3 speculative talls with the hope of one of them sticking.

Charlie Edwards’ highlights got me feeling some type of way

Hoping he could be a Pendles replacement in the future(?)
Edit - no pressure

There's one gather from the centre where he streams forward almost kicks a goal from miles out that is just sublime.

Last key defender we overlooked with an iffy kicking action was Aaron Naughton :(

From the HS:

COLLINGWOOD

Draft picks after trade period: 19, 39, 80, 98

Collingwood lost Taylor Adams during the trade period, and the club could look for a ready-made midfield option to replace him. Polarising prospect George Stevens would be a nice fit as a bullocking 189cm prospect who has already played at VFL level. WA forward/midfielder Koltyn Tholstrup is a another with a mature frame who has played a full WAFL season for Subiaco who would no doubt become a cult hero at the Pies with his 1980s style mullet. There are a number of rebounding defenders at this range of the draft, with talents like WA defender Riley Hardeman, Archie Roberts and Tew Jiath all able to add something to Collingwood’s back six in time. The Pies may look to bolster their marking forward stocks at this range of the draft, with mobile 203cm forward/ruck Archer Reid and 191cm target Logan Morris potential options. If the Pies are looking for an immediate boost later in the draft to push for back-to-back flags, could they look to Werribee VFL duo Sam Clohesy or Shaun Mannagh? Clohesy won the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the best young player in the VFL after a strong season as a rebounding half-back, while dynamic forward/midfielder Shaun Mannagh kicked a bag of six on VFL grand final day and averaged 25 disposals across the season.

Something tells me there’s zero chance he’s there at our current pick and if he is I’m a no.

His movement at stoppage means he’s either currently incorrectly rated and will be more popular come draft night or he’s fundamentally flawed in areas that are crucial for inside mids (defensive game, competitiveness, engine, concentration, lack of production etc). That piece of play you highlighted was top drawer and the way he moves at that size is prototype AFL footballer, IMO. For comparison Allan was more raw and didn’t show any of those same midfield traits this time last year.

FWIW I err toward his rating being wrong, but of course you’ll never know without access to the same vision and if he’s in the 20-25 bracket this draft has been underrated, IMO.
