The age says we will take 2 picks after doing rookie promotions, and could just take someone in SSP for other list spot

Hope it’s only 2 picks.

Pick 80 will come in quite a bit after academy, F/S etc

… but there are still better, more likely to play, DFAs and state league options out there than a late pick 18 year old kid who will

- likely never play a game given the need for development and the strong list we have

- and therefore probably get delisted after his 2nd year

Wouldn‘t mind a state league player with our 3rd pick if we really like them. Likely we will though only use 2 from most reports and then have 3 spots available. Will have to put one more on the senior list from an SSP or current rookie. We may end up going into the season with 1 or 2 free rookie spots like we did a few years ago when we didn’t sign any SSP‘s who were training with us and held 2 spots over and got Begg and Johnson mid season.

C'mon Jen. Can't I bring up the deal we did when we let Robert Dean go to the Swans in 1976. It cost us 12 premierships and Ern Clarke resigned as president and rightly so!
12 eh? Well that might be an exception
Before my time, I'll have to take your word for it ;)

How do the numbers stack up for that? With Markov and AJ being promoted that puts us at 33 seniors. We need 3 more to hit the minimum, and SSP selections go to the rookie list, not senior list.

Two weeks from today is the draft. It'll be here before we know it.
I have no idea about players in the draft. I just hope we draft players who have a draft profile I can read and get excited about.
Hopefully, we can pick up a kid whose profile states he plays like Jonathan Brown and another who plays like Lachie Neale.

#nopressure kids lol

I wonder what date the 1-4 year players start pre-season.
Hawthorn apparantely starts next monday. I'm planning on going to see Ginni at some point before the boys start, So I'm thinking either 20th or 27th.

It's generally around the draft. But havent seen anything official for those that played finals.

My understanding is SSP’s can only go onto the rookie list? If so and we only take 2 ND picks then we would need to take a PSD selection to get to 36 on the senior list. I’m pretty confident we’re taking 3 ND picks.

Edit: PS is all over this. Gut feel is the collective media have seen our 3rd pick is at 80 and decided we’re only using 2 because the draft will only have 50 odd picks 🤷‍♂️

Just not 'Grand Final Day' Lachie Neale

These might be worth a punt with our last pick.

I’ve read that SVR is pretty similar to his brother.

I really like Bodie, especially that his strength is competitiveness.
