This is one of the worst draft rankings I've seen.

They rank James Leake at 20?!! Sheesh, clubs would be lucky if he made it past 10.
What are the power rankings? They rank him #20 but his draft range is 6-12:

20. James Leake

Tasmanian Devils/Allies

DEF/FWD, 188cm, 75kg

Talent League: 11 games, 16.1 disposals, 1.5 goals

A pure footballer who can play as a third tall at either end, Leake is another Apple Isle star with tremendous AFL traits. His marking is elite and he has great instincts around the ball. Leake hasn't shown ability through the middle and doesn't have the size to play as a genuine tall, but his competitiveness and skill will hold him in good stead.

Draft range: 6-12

Power rankings who how you rate players, which will vary when it comes to the draft. Draft range is where said player is more likely to go on the night.

I'll post what I put on the board dedicated to draft prospects not wanted at clubs.

There's a draftee we have been linked to that I would find difficult to support at the club. Consciously the prospect (see below), with full awareness, chose to bully a student with a known psychosocial disability. This lasted for about three years and eventually, he was removed from the school as it was not safe for his victim to attend without emotional, psychological harm. He had enough warnings about his behaviour over time and ignored all. It was a choice.

Have seen some other red flags with him, too so will need strong discipline to ensure we don't have a player end up in the headlines should he be drafted to us. There is no question he will be drafted. Very talented player.

I'm not publicly who due to forum rules and legal reasons. Hence, they can stay as [player]. I will privately respond to DMs for those who are interested.
So he's Tasmanian then? That narrows it down. Same one who goes to your gym? Or a different kid?

I don’t want to state publicly where he’s from but you’re free to PM me.

I’ve counted five current draft prospects training at my gym, four of them who’ll be picked up, one current player and at least one former but delisted top 10 pick. It’s a large gym.

There was only one you said had 'issues' other than those already publicly made though.

Rogers in September proudly watched his Magpies claim this year’s premiership alongside 30 fellow Collingwood supporters.

Star small forward and Collingwood fan Nick Watson said “the flag was unreal”.

“I got a bit nervous towards the end when (Joe) Daniher kicked that goal, but they handled it well. I reckon they’ve got a good team coming up for the next couple of years,” he told foxfooty.com.au.

“Dad and Mum go for the Pies, so I had no choice. I’m not complaining though. I don’t support them as much as I did when I was younger, but it’s always good seeing Collingwood up there.”

Ryley's choice of the Suns has to do with his dad's connection to Kade Kolodjashnij and Jesse Lonergan who knew his dad through the Mariners (predesscor of the Devils).

Jack Callinan's is also related to his dad, Ian, who played for Adelaide. Ian was under the F/S threshold with only 32 games to his name, though.

Pretty sure he has been linked with Melbourne....

I just noticed that Knightmare isn’t ESPN’s “expert” anymore. Wonder where he’s gone?
I didn’t think there was anyone out there more random than him with power rankings, but jeez this new guy has a few head scratchers in there.

He was posting links in his sig to crypto sites or something iirc, which was the last straw for Chief, and fair enough too.

So he was trying to make Money off Bigfooty?

I seen his Videos and he said he is Right into Investments

wow... Shoenmaker & Stevens 13 & 14, with Charlie Edwards down at 38. Looks like the cat sat on his keyboard and threw his whole spreadsheet off.

Maybe he ends up being closer than others, but those first two look way too high for me

Very much agreed. Cal Twomey's rankings are the best and that's because he gets his information closest to the source. Normally about 16.5/20 for the top 20. ESPN does not have that strike rate.

That's good, I'm not expecting Harley Reid to be available😀
Right now I am thinking Archer Reid with our 1st pick if he is still available after studying all the National Draft material up to now. Why? Because I seriously think we need a key position "project player" with quite a bit of size & height. Can anybody tell me whether they have more insights as to his potential as player going forward, both for & against? Goodnight & good luck.

I had C Edwards as the only one. Which were you surprised by?

As I’m investing more time into it there’s a few prospects to get around in our pick range. All of Cleary, Goad, C Edwards, Delean and De Mattia feel like Collingwood picks.

It could be him, could be someone else.

For me, I hope we avoid him. We just don't need the hassle, regardless of talent.
We just had the walking ****ing headline play in a premiership with us after being caught on camera doing illegal drugs 8 months earlier. We’ll be right if we draft this kid you’re referring to.

Fly would need to work one-on-one with him to prevent a culture killer from growing. Not saying that he couldn’t do it but it will be a task and a half. Jacqui would be a good start for him but he has to want it enough. She’s very good but she’s not a magic fairy.

I feel like Ginni’s actions had limited consequences on others, too.

I would just set Bruzzy on him that would have desired effect, what worries me more is that he is a Blues fan for me that is a worry in itself.

You are right about Ginnivan he did more to himself than anybody else but water under the bridge now I was only interested that we got what he was potentially worth.

So what's driving some learned peoples interest in securing another young ruck?

Unless they're Grundy or Jackson like freaks you're probably looking at 4 years of development before they become AFL relevant, it's one reason why they no longer hold the currency they once did when it comes to the national draft and why clubs are increasingly targeting mature aged options to fill ruck needs as they appear.

So is the interest needs based or more of consequence of where we'll be entering the draft this year and a ruck option might well be the best available and/or have the highest potential ceiling of those left on the board?

FWIW Gonad seems to have that limited exposure to elite pathways vibe that Hine likes while his athleticism for a tall would fit in with our general need for speed across all lines.
The earlier we recruit rucks the more we can develop them to fit into our two ruck system.
