Baby steps, pea-brain. I'm surprised that you even managed to include George, humourless, slippery, dwarf, moderator, BigFooty and forum in your initial attempt - I would've put it beyond you to think of 7 words all by yourself but not surprised that you needed help to string them all together in a few sentences. He's overrated by some, I'll definitely give you that, but structurally he's very important. Our backline was probably our best functioning line the past season... when Howard went down, the wheels loosened considerably. He's no world beater, but he is needed.

Couple things obviously a few whispers but

Appaz - we had Pou at no 2 on our board. To concur with most of what’s been said he’s a bit of an arrogant bloke, which I don’t see as bad. Obvs rubbed some people the wrong the way tho.

Ross is more concerned with getting us right for long term then just this year.

Big difference between being very confident and arrogant.
I think the Pou is the former

Not sure we needed to add all of Van Es, Cordy and Phillips in one off season

If we need a mature forward as a back up for King then there would be better mature options out there right now that we could grab for nothing.

Yes we suffered without howard last year... I think? To be honest, although I watched the games I've mostly wiped them from memory. From the little I can remember the whole team was pathetic, not sure if losing howard was the reason we struggled? I do however remember a number of games where howard's defence was totally below the level. I'm sure the autopsy threads will have plenty of mention of said performances.

Sure I can acknowledge that howard is important for our structure, to a degree, but he's also all we have in the taller mobile defender mould. The issue I have with howard is he lacks consistency. He's an experienced player with all the tools, consistency (especially as a defender) isn't asking too much. Because of this he will only ever be an average player in my eyes. If we can swap him out for someone who we can rely on, ie a taller wilkie, then I'm all for it.

Though happy for him to do a sebby ross and make me eat my words next season
