There's a big chance of a Carlton vs GWS Grand Final this year, who would have thought that possible halfway through the season? Will be barracking hard for GWS tomorrow night.

Just think with Marchy, he is very highly respected within the group. Has had a terrible run and now finally he is having a good run of games. Eight day break will help him and Voss and MC are showing faith in him to do a job on big Hipwood.
He will wear Hipwood like a glove and give him nightmares for months.
He positions himself better defensively he is a experienced defender that understands the game and the nuance of defence. He will be in the right spot at the right time

Gee whiz, wouldn't have thought Boyd comes in for Kemp in a PF after not playing at the level for over a month. Kemp was a bit ordinary last week but didn't think his game vs Sydney was all that bad (goal square howler aside).

Think Owies is stiff, not based on last week but body of work
Kemp same on the body of work argument surely.

The easy thing to do is unchanged gutsy calls that make sense.Horses for courses this team will run hard and hit the post in the lead
As long as Harry doesn’t hit the post in the lead again and I will be mostly happy with him.

7 games off and ACL and injured for a good portion of the season. Has worked really hard, no doubt… but Kemp v Marchbank on stats alone

Kemp marchy
Rebound 50 4 0
I50. 2. 0
Tackles. 2. 1
ToG. 94%. 82%
clangers. 4. 3
Marks. .3. 5
Disposals. 14. 12

Marchy has improved but there’s no way he’s doing better than Kemp atm imo.

Obviously MC is seeing something different at training.
Stats are not everything, ever heard of actually watching closely.

Marchy has the discipline to defend when necessary.

Kemp at this stage of his budding career lacks assuredness at times. Goes for marks too often, when he should be punching the footy away. I love Kemp, he has a great career at Carlton ahead of him. Marchy has shown incremental improvement each game, he will be fine.

Sad for Matt & Brodie. Unfortunately Matty was having less and less impact week on week and staying in by kicking the odd goal. Kemp had three kicked on him by Smith and was moved on to Fritsch who kicked another on him so he had to be shuffled out to a flank. So here we are. Match committee would have been tough.

Good luck to our team. Hoping that all big footy posters enjoy the day and get the outcome that we all hope for.:carlton:

For all the talk of us being banged up, I reckon there's a fair bit of freshness about the team.

  • Boyd hasn't played for a number of weeks
  • Cerra missed several weeks, came back vs GWS
  • Cripps didn't play vs GWS
  • Doc didn't play vs GWS
  • Fogarty didn't play vs Gold Coast
  • Hollands was sub last week, didn't play the week before
  • Marchbank was sub vs GWS
  • Martin didn't play last week
  • McGovern missed several weeks, came back vs GWS
  • McKay didn't play last week
  • Motlop didn't play vs GWS, was sub vs Swans
  • Pitto didn't play vs GWS
  • Walsh missed several weeks, came back vs GWS

That's more than half the side who have had rests of one kind or another in recent times.

Compare that to
I didn't look at the teams named, I'm just saying Hollands & Acres are our wingers, with some extra wing time remaining for Cottrell/Doc, hence I expect Doc would be a late out unless he really plays forward majority of the game.

Lyons basically confirmed in an interview (https://spotify.link/100wOgHueDb) that he will be sub this week (4:25)

Joyce just on standby for any defender injuries.
Doc might be off the bench as support down back - or he’s starting back with Boyd on the bench?

Can’t see doc up forward.

Cuningham was ordinary last week.
Willing to overlook that a little bit. Wasn't his sort of game and I think Melbourne will always present some mental challenges for DC to overcome since that's who he did his knee against.

Seems like a well balanced team, with good mobility in the forward line combined with excellent talls. What I most like is not only the potential potency, but that all of them can provide the necessary pressure to lock the ball in the attacking fifty.

The injection of pace into the backline with Boyd, who's also a good decision maker looks good too.

There’s also a chance of a GWS v Lions that no one will give a s*** about except the afl.

Owies incredibly stiff. A goal in each of our low-scoring finals. Think only 1 or 2 games this year where he hasn't kicked a goal too.

Big game for Mots. Something he won't give you that Matty Owies does is a reliable set shot from 40-45, can put your glasses down when he's got it. Mots a better crumber but yeah, he'd wanna kick a few.

J Martin gives you that.

Martin a big upgrade.

Done the right thing bringing in "fresh" players. Am a little surprised at Kemp (albeit he did look out of sorts against Melbourne), as he and the backline had a bit of synergy going and thought they wouldn't want to disrupt that and he earned enough tickets somewhat.

Cunners was a no brainer, twice subbed out the last month and has not fired a shot. Owies been fumbly and making some silly decisions with the heat of finals.

I guess we've got our 26 locked in now for the remainder of the season, so doubt we'll see Fish or Dow in Blue again :(. Would've hoped Dow was a shot this week, but alas not.

Marten, Harry, Charlie, Motlop will be keys to our victory. I think our mids can supply them enough, but have to take their chances and collectively kick 10.

Blues by 8.

It may as simple as experience
