I reckon Ed was the tactical sub based on an assumption Bont would be tearing us up and he would be deployed early to attempt the tag (as mentioned by others, Ed has a tank and doesn't have the explosiveness you might otherwise expect from a sub, although neither does Kennedy). Didn't exactly come to pass and was maybe too smart by half...

But on the sub, why are people barely entertaining the idea that subbing off Hollands was because of injury or injury concerns?
Was mentioned in the players on the app as injured, though not always that accurate on that front.

So, very selfishly, am going to leave this thread for a couple of hours to inherb the green business & relish the brown fluids.

Cheap Trick are grouse.😎👍
If you're on the choof just watch out for the dream police.

It's not about being kamikaze, it's about being pressed up a little better to force the opposition to up their effort to distribute the football, and to trust that your team mates know where to go defensively when it's their turn.

Then when we have possession, trust that your team mates know where to go when you have the ball, instead of hitting static targets that aren't buying space. Every time you fall into that trap, you're gifting the opposition the so much value for every play that they make.

And finally, shut the game down when you're gassed by remaining mobile, just through aerobic effort rather than a surge of high intensity running. Don't let them lock in on what you're doing, take away their ability to have multiple players zoning off.
Exactly like I said in the game thread no sprinting to the mark to ensure they’re pressed and don’t have that extra moment and reduced pressure in nailing a target. When we began to get momentum we were running hard to the mark, ensuring the opponent was pressured, running to our direct opponent.

Cripps is poor as players are running off him for fun and not worried about him with ball in hand as he can't kick ..
But hewitt is a bigger problem he is playing nothing football this year bar the Richmond game -- no hurt with ball in hand -- can't apply physical pressure just running around in circles giving off ground handballs .

Walsh cerra Kennedy cripps enough settle the rest of the side around these four -- play proper half backs and half fwds ..

Pitto outaide his tap work is not doing enough - no marks and costly with ball in hand -- ruck is a huge issue has been for 3 years

Acres can not kick to anyone wearing a carlton jumper -- maybe in indigenous round he will go at 100% as the jumpers will confuse him ...
The fact that our two smalls find space on there own does my head in - is this why we never kick crumbing goals -- our fwd 50 just needs blowing up -- b

Cotterell really played within himself was the only positive for the night ..

Cannot kick one goal in a half and win games.

Next.
I was thinking at least we scored one goal, imagine if we hadn't done so and had to wait until time on in the last quarter for our only goal, pretty sure it'd be the end of the world and the club and its supporters wouldn't survive it. Well, at least that'd be the 2023 ending of that story.

The Good:
Owies
pittonet
SoS - anyone who says he’s not best 22 can piss off- kept us in it single handedly first quarter and busted his hump all game
Charlie
Walsh
Newman
Durdin
Mots
Cripps
Kennedy
Cotters brilliant, sorely missed all year

The Bad:

Blakers, omg, think that was his worse game
Ed curnow, how he was sub is beyond me, deadset, should never play another game for us, let alone take Hollands off who was controlling his wing and put this spud on. Voss you are clueless! Another example of piss poor selection integrity. Kemp should have been sub!

Took my sister....loves the blues but doesnt follow it that close. She loved it. Wished we had won but great night.

Compare that to the crowd here that are slashing wrists

Well obviously some people are more emotionally invested with the club.

This is a fan forum. You are clearly going to get the more passionate and more invested people who seek out a fan forum.

Not a crime for people to be upset when something they are emotionally invested let's them down like this..

Another blowtorch week for the club. Not that it makes a jot of difference. Other clubs feed on that sort of pressure and show up the following week. We just close our eyes, stick fingers in our ears and go lalalalalalalala.

When you think of our leaders, the first names that usually come to mind are Cripps & Weitering, and right now, they’d be just about the last people you’d look at to breath confidence into this mob.

It’s entirely plausible the bloke up in the box has lost the group. As damning as that would be for everyone involved.
How many coaches do we say that about before putting the players under the microscope? They are coachkillers at this point as far as I'm concerned.
