All good thanks mate. I’ll send the club a note and hit them up. What’s in it anyhow?
Didn’t open it as I thought you might want it. Think it has a footy jumper 2 pairs of footy shorts 4 pairs of footy socks and gift voucher worth a thousand dollars and a trip to China to watch us play port Adelaide

Haha I’m still waiting for my trip to China. Paid $200 to be in the draw for a trip to watch the game but cancelled due to covid. Never heard of what became of that since.

The club or another flight place? Sorry read it again. Obviously the club. Pretty ordinary
The game was cancelled due to covid. They never refunded or had a different draw. Never heard anything about it since. Donation.

I think I only do it these days to keep the continuous year streak going. It's a bit sick, not sure why I keep fronting up. Cuddly Ross has wooed me.
You’re probably like a lot of us George, been doing it for so long it becomes automatic. It’s like an addiction. I think we might need help. Is there a support group? Saints Anonymous?

Any news on numbers? Im going to take a wild guess were down on last year as weve heard zero chest thumping from the Club on numbers...and a huge attempt to spin any sort of injury bad news.
Given how many people auto renew our base level is probably higher than it would have been in the past. It will be interesting to see how many sign up when the season starts. Lack of home games probably doesn’t help.

I know that the season hasn't even started yet but I feel the need to temper the outrageous optimisim in the OP with something more 'topical'. I'm very much All In still, but I'd be lying if I said that my hopes for the season haven't been reined in a little by our injury cloud similar in size and shape to the 21 Saints, or frighteningly to the 22 Eagles (they had other problems though)

So what to make of St Kilda 150?

Well, maybe it won't be an outstanding year, but it will be different and both qualities are indicative of a club famously starved of success, money, luck and prestige but with no shortage of character and hunger.

It will be a year of exploration for Ross and his crew, but also a year of celebration. I have seen various posters including myself in my down moments grumble about the club having nothing to celebrate except the patience of its fans - a patience misread at times as an acceptance of mediocrity or a lack of demand for success.

Of course we demand success, just as much as Carlton, Collingwood or Essendon fans do. The only difference is history. A one point win in 1966 is not a dynasty, not a trend, not "normal service" resuming. Unlike certain other clubs, our potential glories of the past were stymied by financial disadvantage, a crooked shapeshifting system, our own incompetence and plain bad luck.

By the grace of whatever, St Kilda Football Club finds ourselves here and now competing in a field of 18 when other teams fell by the wayside. 150 years. Ask your parents, your grandparents, anyone else around what it means to them and they'll tell you it's more than cups, more than premiership bumper stickers. 150 years of aspiration, of ripping up plans and starting again, of re-stumping and re-plumbing in a desire to taste what other clubs' supporters take for granted.

Exploration could lead us to Mount Disappointment or the Gold Coast but we will find out all about ourselves along the way. That alone is something we can rejoice in all year, as we look ever forward, as we have done for 150 years.

St Kilda 150: All bloody In

Much like my first shower in prison this brought a tear to my eye

"Last week I relapsed. My missus caught me recreating the Heath Shaw/Nick Riewoldt smother in the 2010 GF so Rooey sidesteps and bangs it through. I was in the hallway with a balled up pair of socks as a footy. I could see the disappointment in her face..."

We delivered another Saint Paddy yesterday. Signed him up today!

Here's hoping he'll be more Ryder than McCartin!

Congratulations Boar, good to have some more little Sainters coming though, well done.

Thank you! We've got a Max (~2) and a Paddy (0) now, not Saints related name choices exactly, but certainly didn't hurt their chances!

Nice, got a nod to the Saints but not so Saints that if a player leaves they are disowned by you. Congratulations regardless, having kids is the best thing you'll ever do, even if it's a slog at times. You'll never regret it....well at times but that doesn't last.
