i think you'll be surprised quite often
Its hardly the be all and end all of it but pretty sure that Owies averaged more goals per game and significantly more tackles per game than Durdin. Corey will improve but two things need clarification here:

1) It's good to have competition in the small forward role.
2) Matt Owies is a very determined character, who has come from a fair way back, and is pretty much underrated on here.

Even talk from a few players and coaches has Owies having a great pre-season (one to watch type of praise) - if we decide to go with 2 of them, then it will come down to form which is a great thing to have - pressure on spots.

Probably comes down to the fitness of Martin and/or Cunners (both HFF). If both of them injured (lets be honest, that's a fair chance) then there is probably room for all 3 like we did last year.

Just for interests' sake where do we think Cunners would be if he didn't have a horror run with injuries and played the same number of games as JSOS (being drafted in the same year)?
Between a star and delisted.
Has played a few good games, a handful of serviceable games and a heap of very average ones. Some players improve, some don’t. Fingers crossed he gets a good run at it and we can find out.
Cuningham has the leg speed we need but imo will make it into the side as a role player. I don’t think he will ever be good enough to be a mid or smart enough to have a big scoreboard impact. So if I was to guess he would be similar to SOJ but because of his pace and running power he would be much more important to this side

I reckon he could average a goal a game as a HFF - he'd be one of the cleanest rovers of a ball off the pack at the club (or was in his last year or two before his knee - incl practice games i saw).

Unfortunately we just dont have a big enough body of work to really gauge where is he best suited and still dont know if he is good enough or not as he should be coming into his prime now but wont be for at least another 12 months of footy under his belt.

Think one of the cleanest players in general. Footskills, handballs and roving. Cuningham's issue has always been simply getting more of the football. If he averaged 20 touches a game his impact per disposal has always been fantastic.

I was really excited to see him paired up with Hewett Cerra and a fit Kennedy, Cripps and Walsh. We were averaging enormous amounts of contested ball and uncontested ball early last year which would mean he'd have been fed a lot more of it than when he had Dow, Murph and Setterfield feeding him.

Hopefully he can get back to full fitness but even as a sub I'd love to see him come into the game with fresh legs and have his little cameo's late in the game.

His kicking was average at best a lot of the time - hitting up a leading forward and either 10m short or 5m over his head - but that could also be getting pace of the game (hard to do when in and out of the side)
